Somewhere in the Between: Second Slice of Life
The line twitched.
New Directions
((This song was stuck in my head as I wrote this.))
To think of himself as a tree led Etienne to think of home. Guided by the low rumble of Honani’s voice, he thought of himself as one tree among many in Eversong Forest. It was a proper forest in the old days, one that stretched to every edge of the kingdom. That was where he stood, in the untouched wilderness far from the capital. Even the troll city was far from where he grew. It was just him and the forest, and yet the experience was not as pure as he would have hoped. He could feel the sunlight upon his leaves, just as instructed, but the sensation was dulled by the numbing tingle of magic radiating up from his roots.
It was forever Autumn in Eversong, the trees filled with leaves of crimson and gold. The wind rustled through his own branches, coaxing a melodic hum that mixed with the other trees. The song was not as pleasant as he remembered, not when he was apart of it. The trees of Eversong never shed their leaves, never slept, never blossomed, they just sang endlessly in the breeze. It was truly magic—gaudy, unnatural magic. The land was tainted long before the Scourge swept through. Etienne took a shuddering breath, vaguely aware of Honani’s voice guiding the circle to imagine their roots no longer found water. What then, he asked.
Song of New Growth
Smoke spreads above us.
Thoughts stretch below,
Searching for water,
Yearning to know.
Song of Sand and Blood
Sand blows, wind grows
Sweeping over dusty plain
Out we ride, turn our eyes
From the camp again
Aquaphobia
((Continued from The Shattering))
Forward. Forward so fast her body trembled and without the plate covering her chest would have been crushed. The belly of the beast roared like madness. There was no struggling to break surface because movement within the overbearing pressure was impossible. Only the water could dictate how she was to move.
Fear my Lowering Coefficient of Friction
Winter's veil decends.
A Most F&*$ed-Up Day (Part 3)
Elledro was going to die. And it was going to be her fault. Meco probably didn’t come alone. Whoever Meco brought along was just going to help pummel Elledro into a bloody pulp for trying to protect her.
Hakkajin couldn’t sit. No. She was pacing. Not only pacing, but running back and forth with worry, straining to see between the leaves to catch sight of Elle. Was he already dead?? Were they coming up to finish her too?
She couldn’t see him. Wait- A troll, laying dead on the shore. Elledro!? Hakka screamed his name.
A Most F&*$ed-Up Day (Part 2)
Hakkajin’ju was now trembling beneath one of the raised bridges in Shattrath, her body huddled up against the stone. She kept mentally telling herself that she was safe now and that everything was okay, but her body would not stop.
A Most F&*$ed-Up Day (Part 1)
“Please excuse this interruption, but do you happen to live in Stranglethorn Vale?”, asked the ugly, rotten corpse standing on the pathway before her in the Drag of Orgrimmar.
Can't Walk Away
(Originally posted April 7th, 2006)
I stared down at Hakkajin. Aulli had torn out her throat; Kharak and I had drug Aulli off her while the others pulled her around the corner of the building. Now they knelt around the fallen troll - Ghurab, Kharak, Uzil, Undel. Malyce stood watchfully with Spite nearby, on guard.
Why was I interfering? This was a cultist. A Hakkarite. A sworn enemy.
Awkward Situations
Dutaee was acting a little weird. Not that she knew him particularly well; he had become her newest freaky stalker for the past three weeks or so, just randomly popping up to chat no matter how well she had tried hiding herself.

As We Wait
I told Thrall’tukk once, that if I had my way, I would stay at home, be a tailor, and never fight again. He didn’t believe me, and I’m starting to believe he was right. I am certainly at home more now that I have been in recent days, but I find there are times when I just have to, move.
Pand is kind enough to check in on Leiral those short times I’m gone, and I’m terrified that she’ll wake up when I’m away. I believe she’d forgive me, she understands the need to go, but I don’t think I’d ever forgive myself.
I just can’t seem to help it.
