Commonwealth
We live in an age of adventure, but not every adventurer is cut from the same cloth. Through dedication, innate talent, good fortune or various combinations thereof, some ascend to the highest plateau that mortals can reach. Wielding weapons of legend and slinging spells of extraordinary power, they put their lives on the line against the most destructive forces of Azeroth and beyond, changing our world in significant ways. They are champions of the people, and tales of their epic deeds will be told for many generations to come.
Commonwealth is not a guild for those people.
Commonwealth aims to provide a home for the average adventurer -- the swordsman of satisfactory skill, not spectacular; the wizard of modest wisdom, not world-warping power. Are you dependent on the income you'd receive from picking up jobs at the local tavern, such as killing kobolds in a nearby mine or rounding up a troublesome bandit gang? Do you travel from town to town on a simple horse or mechanostrider, shaking your fist at the hotshots who barrel past astride a ferocious drake? Do you feel more at home among common laborers, merchants and barflies than heroes who speak of their readiness to fight Arthas, and dismiss threats like Ragnaros and Onyxia as trivial worries of yesteryear, who could be put down without so much as breaking a nail?
If you answered "yes" to any of the aforementioned, Commonwealth may be the guild for you.
We are not the best at our jobs, nor will we ever be, but we strive to do the best we can for the people of Azeroth and Outland with the tools and talents we have. We seek to support each other, finding strength and solidarity in our numbers. We do not fear failure, nor does it shame us, as we've picked ourselves up and dusted ourselves off more often than most. Above and beyond all else, come fel or high water, through lazy days and crazy nights, we're here for each other as friends.

Historical Costume Party - The Cosplayers
Stuffed into Lisa Graviton's filing cabinet of highly disorganized yet nonetheless quite comprehensive Commonwealth-related documents is a sheaf of papers outlining the planning, execution and overall expense of the first annual Historical Costume Party. The final page is simply a list, with a couple of accompanying Super Snapper images ...
An Historical Costume Party
(( Many thanks to Larosa for taking the time to design poster art for this event! I'm still out of my element with Model Viewer misbehaving since the patch, and the contributions are very much appreciated. ))

Concerning Commonwealth and Shadowspark Institute
(( I don't know quite how to word this, so I'll keep it short. I hope the folks affected will be understanding.
The Name-O-Matic 5000: Gnomish Name Generator
(( The following is part of a larger work in progress called The Gnominomicon, which aims to be a basic reference website for roleplaying gnomes in World of Warcraft. I've decided to throw the name generator online early, for the benefit of players creating new characters (or recustomizing old ones) before Operation: Gnomeregan arrives.
So, without further ado ... The Name-O-Matic 5000!
Honoring Alliance Towns - Kharanos

This forthcoming Friday, June 25th at seven o'clock Goblin Servo Time, the Commonwealth guild will host its fourth event to honor the people, contributions and history of smaller Alliance towns. This time we'll be paying tribute to the snowy settlement of Kharanos, with a specific focus on the gnomes who have lived there in the years since Gnomeregan's fall. We'll be meeting outside the residence of renowned inventors Ozzie Togglevolt and Razzle Sprysprocket.
Commonwealth Event Rescheduled
(( Just a quick notice for those planning to attend tonight's Commonwealth event in Kharanos -- it has been bumped forward to Friday the 25th, as the intrusion of Real Life™ (i.e. sudden rescheduled early Father's Day shenanigans) may prevent me from making it online with sufficient prep time. This is just as well, as I appear to have forgotten to actually post the event announcement.
Have a happy Friday and see you in Kharanos next week! ))

Harvest Festival Potluck Feast

On Saturday, the third of October at seven o'clock Goblin Servo Time, to honor the final night of Azeroth's week-long Harvest Festival, the Commonwealth guild will host a potluck feast in the courtyard of Stormwind Keep. Any and all members of the Alliance who appreciate good food are welcome! Since it's a potluck dinner, attendees are encouraged to prepare a dish and bring it along to share with everyone. The food you bring can be iconic of your race and culture, or just something you really enjoy.
The night won't be just meals and mingling, however! There are a few proverbial side dishes as well ...

Commonwealth Inaugural Guild Meeting

A number of slightly ragged and weather-beaten posters are sparsely distributed through Alliance towns and cities, usually found on bulletin boards, pillars and lampposts in high-traffic areas. They appear to have been produced via some sort of low-end mechanical printing process, and only three colors of ink are used.
Commonwealth - For the adequate, not the awesome.
"We're not your classic superheroes. We're not the favorites. We're the other guys. We're the guys nobody ever bets on."
- The Shoveler, Mystery Men
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
It began with three gnomes. Lisa Graviton, a nerdish tinker who had been ignoring the outside world since Gnomeregan's fall; Nenalie Arclight, a down-to-earth courier making a modest living running deliveries between Alliance cities; and Evra Valence, a rough-and-tumble warrior with an unfortunate deficit of navigational skill. Becoming friends, these three unspectacular adventurers quickly realized that their respective livelihoods would often keep them apart, with many miles of dangerous territory between them. Pondering ways to stay in touch, they decided to form a simple guild, availing themselves of its benefits to support each other.
