First of all, sorry if this isn't the right section for this.

I've recently moved from Earthen Ring to Shadow Council, and so far, I've been loving it. Everybody I've met so far has been awesome, and the amount of RP on the realm seems to be a perfect fit for me. I'm definitely not regretting my decision to change servers, but one thing I do miss is their Tear's Tuesdays, a regular event where people can meet-up in game and share stories IC. Since there does not seem to be an equivelent here (and please, somebody let me know if there is!), I thought I'd take some initiative and see what kind of interest there is in having an event like this.

Let me preface this by saying this is all very tenative, and I'd love some help hashing this out before I make anything definite.

So what does this "Story Night" entail?

Hello, Havenites. I have a strange request.

I have started a project to keep me involved in roleplay while I'm in school. Those of you who were on the Dragoons chat channel at the right moment may know what I'm talking about. So does Cerwis, whom I've been pestering. (Thank you for your wonderful humor, Cerwis!) In order to do a certain thing involved in the certain project, I need pictures of the Azeroth globe from the Halls of Lightning.

Okay, so poking around one of the forums, I noticed something about a ShC meet and greet at the MD Renn fest...

I was wondering if that was still...pertinent, I guess? My boyfriend grew up in Baltimore, and has gone to the Renn fest every year. He introduced me to WoW- and he introduced me to the Renn fest, about 2 years ago. We plan to go every year still, ourselves.

From all the pics I've seen of Havenites -at- the Renn Fest...I was wondering if actually cementing a day to hang out irl like the nerds we are was...viable?

For the past month I was holed up in a tiny town in Minnesota with flimsy internet.  It was outside the town on a little farm that I got married :)

 I knew my husband 7 years as a friend and two years dating before we were married on April 9th, a not so warm day with 75 people from his family and 9 from mine :)

Couldn't think of a thread title to say exactly what is on my mind but the current one will do I suppose. The basic gist of what I've been wondering lately is how other people feel about RPing class abilities as something else to some extent. An example of this is with Asilia as a hunter in that I tend to RP explosive shot, Arcane Shot and the like as being her innate ability to imbue her weapons with said magical energies of fire/arcane even shadow with Black Arrow. While I am fairly sure class wise the abilities are suppose to be special bullets or enchanted arrows not something the character is doing. My reasoning behind this is primarily because of night elf hunters since imbuing the shot with your own innate magic would of been heresy for them up until recently.

This is an open letter, not to call out but because no one is coming forth.. so here goes.

    So as expected the world shook, zones exploded, lives were lost and we all find ourselves at the foot of the mountain to another adventure. The Shattering happened Nov 23 2010, while I personally haven't really gotten into any RP at all and spent a majority of the day exploring the new zones and determining if my characters were actually dead or alive.

    A friend brought up an interesting question, regarding the recent patch. Asked me if I was doing the three month thing. After inquiring what he/she meant by this. They told me that a few role-players are role playing that three months have passed since the Shattering happened.

   There was a few points made in the discussion on how Andorhal was rebuilt, simply stated it was not possible to happen in a day. I agree, this isn't possible, if it were rebuilt in a day.

Given the number of comments and threads that I've seen alternately involving or decrying things in the Convocation and the activities of my guild, it's occurred to me that people may not understand a lot about TKoQ, but evidently we're having a decent impact on the server even now at a relative nadir.  Now, I can take a hint too, and what I read that as is that people like having us around, even as antagonists.

Hello all, it's been a while since I looked into anything world of warcraft related...

First off, for those who has been wondering where have I gone...my account got pished.

I'm still struggling to get in touch with Blizzard, to fix it, and that is why I haven't been around. My options thus far is, either I keep on fighting to finally get through to Blizzard, or buy the games again and make a brand new account (and that makes me wince because before the pishing, I was working on fixing dell up as dps-er.. so those hours' gone down the drain thanks to that one stupid mistake... brilliant, thats me.)

If I go with the second (and expensive) option at least I'll get a clean slate I suppose, over a few certain issues that I was having when I suddenly took that leave without warning.

Secondly, I hope you all are doing well and RP is hopefully thriving on Shadow Council.

Looking forwards to hopefully possibly catching up with some of you.

For those who run about with the Meddlers, theres been lack of a certain Gnome Death Knight tank lately (a fact we certainly all lament). A couple months ago, Delphiee, Cerwis, and I had the pleasure of meeting Julica's player in person, and finding out just what he's been working on the last few months. Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale is now localized and available for preorder on Steam, thanks to Julica and his partners in Carpe Fulgar LLC. Congrats, Jules (And I had to continue Drogar's attempts to beat you to the punch)! I've had a chance to play the demo, and it's a fun little RPG. I may have to get a Steam account now...

Ahoy!  I'm back again on the topic of the arena.  I'll get right to the point.

The point?

I'm looking to put together a 3v3 and 5v5 casual arena team based upon the concept that you qualify for ~200 arena points for competing in ten matches a week.

IC or OOC?

The two teams I am currently putting together are both OOC, unless there is sudden interest in forming an IC team.  If you're interested in the concept of a IC arena team, see my blog post here.

Hey everybody, just wanted to give you guys a headsup on some useful addons to enhance the RP experience.  Most of you have already heard of them, and whether you have tried them or not, I highly recommend that you give them a go (again).  They are called Gryphonheart Items and Gryphonheart Reputation.

Gryphonheart Items is JUST like Ephemeral from way back in the day, only it works and isn't as confusing as Ephemeral was.  This addon allows you to create client side items for use in RP and lets you trade them to others that have the addon installed.  Useful for say.. a sealed letter, or a stone that kills somebody when used?  It can add buffs to the buff frame that others with the addon can see as well.  I use this addon, and so far I have not found many others that do (being that I have a select RP circle as of late, so not much outside interaction).

 The basic question:

I've been having twitches of wanting to try out playing a Forsaken character, and I've just recently had a very strange and interesting- NOT INTERESTING! Bad Maira! Bad! Bad!- idea.

So. Someone please stop me from doing this. Because...

I want to make a Forsaken character and say they were an elf. And they're very unhappy... because their ears fell off while they were dead.

Right. So. Last week in guildchat, I was RPing Akkie, and as she just got Origin of Nightmares the prior Saturday, I was justifying ICly to Tamlin how a staff can still be dangerous. Vague thoughts roiled through my mind of Anglo-Saxon wielders of quarterstaves, and how terrifying one could be. But my mind snapped and recalled Chinese Martial Arts pole forms, in large part because I and my husband study them, and in equal part because the night elf animation style with a staff is incredibly reminiscent of Chinese martial arts with a pole.

 Shorok isn't the only one who can ask questions.

Now, this may have been asked before but I was wondering if there is anywhere on this site where there is a play by post. I don't mind just posting for others to read but I enjoy having IC replies that I can come back to and read anytime.

(Is it that book thing under the create section? I still haven't explored this whole place.)

Anyways, just a simple yes/no answer please. I can understand why there isn't a play by post on this site seeing that most of the rp goes on in game, but I was just hoping there might be one and I over looked it.

Taking off where Aktarin's thread "OOC-Thoughts on Marriage and In-Game Relationships" has gone off on several wild tangents from the original point, I figured perhaps here in the RP forum we could continue discussing our relationships with our characters, and how it effects our relationships with others in the game, both ICly and OOCly. Okay, so as many of you know, jabber.org's servers crash regularly... and well I finally got tired of it enough to do something about it.

I setup a jabber server on a server that I use to host a dnd site that I'm not using that much. (it also severs as a sand box for side projects as well)
