Hunters
Haven, Part One
Winterspring, a valley nestled in the foothills of majestic Hyjal- frozen, by virtue of geography and the whim of nature, in eternal winter. Here the snow- covered trees glisten under an ancient starlight and amidst living shadows, a haven for secrets, as well as some of Kalimdor's hardiest wildlife. It was an ideal setting in which to find my bird, as well as a few stolen moments with my dear Drifter.
"Dress warm."
Excerpts from Nelenna’s Bestiary Compendium
((I’ve tried to keep this all within my understanding of Lore and some of it arises from my own ooc perceptions which then flow from Nel’s perspectives. I’ll probably also make more blogs that detail more of Nelenna’s writings within her tomb.))
A leather bound tome hangs from the bulletin board in the Dragoon Hall, with a note attached to it.
“This tome has details concerning my experience with the training of various animals as well as some details to their behavior. Along with the relationship of a hunter and his or her companion, anyone is free to borrow this book though I do ask that it be returned within a day or so and to not leave the Hall with it. I will be adding more to it, to create a more in depth knowledge base as I feel this information can be beneficial to everyone and not just those of us that form strong bonds with animals as companions.
P.S I’d also ask that if anyone thinks I have misconstrued something, or have incorrect information to come speak to me rather than take it upon yourself to ‘correct’ my findings in my tome without my permission.
P.S.S I would also appreciate input on what kind of information you would like to see added. “
A Gift for the Zulfi
“Light-damned … not again!” Lothanor held the bag at arms’ length, sighing in frustration as he looked at the red streak along his thigh. He scrubbed briefly at it with his hand, and then pulled the hand away as the blood smeared.
The soft light of the forest filtered strangely through the pale red leaves, the Farstrider’s dappled armor blending in with the surrounding tree trunks. He tossed the bag aside, a mossy severed ear tumbling out. He glanced around, seeing the path back to the Farstrider Enclave winding up through the dim woods. He smiled, tossing his head back, hair swirling around his shoulders as he let out a relieved sigh. He walked over to the bag, hefting it carefully, face twisting in disgust as he picked up the loose ear, dropping it back into the bag.
New Blood
I'll show 'em useless! Tashorr fumed as he stalked through the undergrowth, moving quietly despite the fury that gripped him. He breathed in a deep breath of warm jungle air, trying to calm himself to keep focused on moving silently. The sea witch was sending her murlocs against the Darkspear, and they'd refused his help! He was thirteen years old, nearly a Darkspear man! His scowl darkened further as he made his way through the jungle. The murlocs had stopped coming for a few hours now, but everybody knew the sea witch was just calling up more. The bright green plants only waved slightly as he stalked by, his fur blending in with the foliage. Tashorr's fury softened as he grinned. I'll show 'em useless!
In Your World
Cerwis put her cigarette out as Alynore walked into the room and dropped her bag onto the floor, “I'm gonna tell you a story right quick.”
Alynore just frowned at the older woman, “You look like them road apples in the streets back in the city… Just so ya know.”
Cerwis snorted a little, feeling every bit as sick as she looked as the drugs wore off completely, “Yeah, I look terrible, I know...Well, now I know. I feel it too. Anyway…So, this one time there was a Fox and a Rabbit. They both heard about a real nice job that would essentially feed 'em both for a long, long while.”
“...Uh-huh,” Alynore had a seat and quirked an eyebrow at her fellow Dragoon, wondering where she was going with this.
