So last night in Horde side /realmportal channel, the topic came up towards the end of the Fancy Cakes roleplaying event of thinking about the coffee (or tea) orders your character would likely get as their "regular" if they were to wander in to a coffee shop. This being WoW, alcohol is allowed to be included in your drink order (i.e. spiced rum in your pineapple/mango frappucino) and you can use small/medium/large sizes. This ain't no Starbucks!

So would your character be a small strawberries & cream frappucinno with whip person? Would they hanker for an iced double-shot Americano? Maybe they can't get through a day without a hot raspberry herbal tea with organic honey?

Tell us what tantalizes their tastebuds!

Night hid in the alleyway. It lurked back among the trash waiting out the day. The sun might hold sway in the streets of the city but these nooks and dirty crannies always belonged to the shadows, even at noon. A rank scent of rotting food, piss and shit clung to the place. Bins of hammered tin stood against the filthy brick walls, their lids locked with pins. A few of these though had been looted and overturned. The thieves lorded over the garbage heap, a gang of rats. They picked the choicest morels from the pile, carting away a fish head here or a bit of gut there to gnaw with feral abandon. One of the pests slipped away from the others. His greasy black fur made him a shadow himself as he slunk to the wall and followed it down the alley toward another large pile of refuse. He stood back on his haunches, ever cautious as he approached the hoard.

Me and Veri were having a discussion about anatomy and trolls and she had the bright idea that it might be fun to extend that discussion to the community with a quick art workshop. Blizzard LOVES to wreak havoc with anatomic details, so take something that interests you, and try to work out what it would look like for real. Keep it loose and sketchy, or detail it as you see fit. To start you off here's a couple:

Dear Diary,

Well, it's been quite some time since I last wrote but I have hands again, so here I am... well mostly. And of all people to have to thank for it? The Lich King! That pompous self-important puppet of Kil'jaden that he is. Still, I was in a spot, being dead and all. Beggars can't be choosers. How did it happen? Well I'm getting to it, Diary! For pity's sake, just hold your imps.

Okay, this will be the start off session of the Permadeath event. We'll begin around 7:00PM Server and go until around 9:00 Server.

Everyone should be level ONE to start. We'll make as many groups as we need. I'm thinking the basic concept is that we'll be a horde raiding party in training. We'll choose a leader on the day of, based on roleplay. Dueling may decide a bit of it. Then we'll be off to doing the newbie zone stuff. It may go a little longer, but I'm choosing an off night to avoid conflicting with peoples regular gig's.

  Her imaculately tailored gown caressing every lush curve of her human body, the 'young' mage sauntered into the snug hollow that served as the Darkshire Inn. Her ruby lips turned upward in a smirk of delight as she sniffed ale, meatrolls, baked pies and another aroma that tickled her nose just a bit more than the rest. Her bright gaze swept the crowd, hungrily taking in the foray of bodies quietly bustling about the domicile. 

So I thought it might be fun to start up a fun, frivolous little forum game for everyone. Just something to make you pause and think for a few minutes about your character.

Pirate Fight Night is back!

When:  The ship will make anchor in the cove south of Ratchet Friday, April 25th 5:00 - 7:00pm Server Time (completely ignore the "event" time listed, it lies and I cannot fix it!  5-7 pm server time is right!).

Where: Look for the ship with the black and red sails in the cove just south of Ratchet, behind the Bloodsail Bucaneers. ((take the road south out of Ratchet until you get to the clearing and look left.  The mobs here are around level 12 and easy to get around.  You have to board the ship carefully via the pointy spire off the bow))

What???: Pirate Fight Night is your chance to come out, get down, get dirty and share some good, old fashioned fist fighting with friends from Horde and Alliance alike!  Booze is often served while the deck of the ship is turned into one giant brawl.  Though we may be pirates, there are still RULES for this mayhem:

The 3rd Annual Shadow Council Meet and Greet in Northern VA/DC/MD is just around the corner!

The Maryland Renaissance Festival is one of the largest ren faires in the country and I'm lucky to call it my home faire.  For the past two years we have piggy backed on Adventure Weekend: Pirate Invasion! for our meeting and greeting purposes and I hope this year will be no exception.  So, here are some of the details...

When: September 26-28, 2008

((Sheva's player was being commanded to go dancing Friday (tonight!)  As it turns out usual Friday night dancing will not be taking place and so Sheva's player decided to view that as a sign that it's time to bring back Pirate Fight Night!))

When:  Due to sudden squals that quite frankly the ship's crew is too lazy to deal with properly, there was a last minute decision to make a pit stop Friday night starting at 6:00 pm (server time)  to wait it out.

The date of the Hallow's End celebration in Darkshire has been changed to the 29th but the time slot remains the same.

Dear Diary,

I got to pet a tauren! Yes, unbelievably true, and I will explain and be brief!

I went to the White Hart last night. I'd heard all about this place up in Winterspring. It was a NIGHTMARE to get to. Oh my Sun King, Diary! It was SO cold. And there were big white ewoks in diapers that tried to eat me! Horrifying! I finally did get to the place though, feeling like a frozen Popsicle. The first thing I noticed was how busy it was, Diary. I mean who knew that this out of the way little inn would have so much patronage? Someone lucked out on location choice. That's what papa always used to say about business, he did. “Vohlash,” he'd tell me, “it's all about location location location.” He used to sell potions and curios in Silvermoon. Always did well for me and my mom. He had a good head for business. Anyway, this place was hopping with people. I was amazed.

Artisania Marveloso was completely smashed.

*SQUEALS*

The floating market's going to be at Red Cloud Mesa! There's like a whole bunch of Tauren there! I might get to pet one! I'm so excited! I got my potion bags packed and Elmer's all set. Mulgore here I come!

Hey Mistress! Miss me? Well I hope so, 'cause I miss you guys dreadfully. Everything has been going splendidly on my little vacation. And I just must say, you're my favorite master in at least a thousand years easy. It's so nice to have someone who really cares and doesn't just want to keep you around to be their little Love-Me-Succi all the time. Not that I would object to a little taste... but I know I'm embarrassing you, so not to worry, not another word. I promise... really.

Hey! Ze says rumor is that the floating market will be popping up again, this time in Brill on Tuesday! So we're packing up the potions and we're heading out. Zepplin rides are fun, don't you think? Well hope to see you there!

Dear Diary,

Oh dear. There's so much to write down, I'm just not sure where to begin, Diary. Well, I'll only tell the important bits I suppose. I mean nobody cares about what I had for dinner last Thursday do they, not even you. So I've been helping out in Ashenvale, you know that big forest to the north west of Orggrimar? You don't know? Um, well it's... big... very big. Creepy big, Diary. I mean the trees, there as big around as... well something REALLY big. And everything smells of mold and leaves and stuff. And it makes me sneeze something horrible. I think I'm allergic. The first day I was there, I got all these little red bumps on my skin and it itched something horrible. Zahaith went back to town and got me some skin cream, then she bamfed back. By the Sunwell, she's a life saver. I kissed her right on the mouth for it, which she seemed to enjoy a little too much, Diary.

Tonight, Yuu, Morathius and I went to Blackrock Depths to kill the emporer. Yuu and I took out Angerforge, Flamelash and the Summoner's Tomb on our own, then Yuu performed some ninja-rogue magic in the Lyceum while Mora caught up. We then went on to take down teh emporer and save teh princess! Much fun and many laughs were had. I hear there is an album in the works, as well!

Ms. Rabbly has informed me she's to wed, May 26th! She's asked for the Leaf to cater drinks, so I am once again looking for staff volunteers. Thanks for your consideration!
