Six months ago, Deathwing blew up the world.

Six months ago, a dwarf awoke in a chilly cave in Dun Morogh and didn't know what to do with herself.

I had some inspiration for a new event -"Friday" Night Fights; I was thinking maybe a large scale cross-faction event one night a week (not necessarily on Fridays, per se).

It could be presented in different "rings", or if held in an arena, the different matches would take turns competing in the one ring. This would be a *real* PvP event, but with both sides welcome. Matches can be Horde/Horde, A/A, or H/A - no discriminating in the ring.

If anything, it could be the same nights as the RP market, and there could be vendors selling their wares outside the fighting area.

Just tossing the idea out before implementing it, I'd like to see everyone's input and feelings on this before cementing it. I see alot of potential for this- and if it caught on I could charge admission, and give the admission money I made to that night's winner(s).

The trouble with risk-reward ratios is those times when the risk part steps on your neck.

I have no connection to this event or the folks running it, but I spied it on WoW.com this morning and thought I'd at least put up a topic for folks at Haven, in case they are interested.

Enkilzar, the Draenei ceremony memorializing the Flight from Argus, will be held in the Exodar on Thursday, April 30th, at 7PM Server Time. All races friendly to the Draenei are welcome to attend. Exarch Arutaan will be speaking the prayers in Draenic, but Common will be spoken throughout and we will certainly set up a translator. =)

As the center of power for the Alliance, I thought it fitting to explore Stormwind first. Please advise if you have alternate locations in mind.

On Sunday, the 18th of January, at 3 o'clock Goblin Standard Time, Razyel Windblade will be presenting a lecture on the History of the Elvish people, from their beginnings around the Well of Eternity to their current state.  The lecture will take place in Azshara, gathering first on the bridge between Azshara and Ashenvale.  Protection for those in need will be provided by the University.

The Spirit Tavern will be having our grand opening celebration on Monday, December 1st.  5:30 pm - ? ((server time)).  The Spirit Tavern is located in the park in Stormwind, the smaller tavern, just to the right as you enter the park.

We will be serving food, drinks and lots of fun!  Please stop by to check it out, see old friends and meet new ones!  We hope to see you there!

The Spirit will be open on a regular basis, an update with hours will be posted here once we have them established.

So you have a great idea and hold your own event? Awesome! There can never be too many, so plan and host away! It can, however, seem like a daunting task to organize and pull together an event but once you've got one under your belt it gets easier. When Sheva decided to host her own event, she followed a guide similar to this written by the lovely Saffiy and it helped immeasurably, as she hope it does for you:

One of the things that makes an RP server great are the opportunities to find a player run event where inevitably a collection of RPers gathers for socialization. RP events are one of the fastest and easiest ways to meet new characters, learn about ongoing story lines, get your own RP on, etc. It's also a great way for people new to the RP scene to get their feet wet and learn the ropes, so to speak.

Just a little pre-cursor to this... I was bored yesterday, and did a couple searches on the boards here, and I read the sentance "Opalissa's Galas continue to be the most highly attended events a-side" or something to that effect... That got me thinking, while holding them monthly was a bit much for me, it's time for me to hold another. So, in honor of my birthday, I'll be holding another gala! If anyone cares to volunteer, let me know.

The salty air quickly came to Ah'Tail's mouth as he coughed and sputtered from a sudden pressure building up on top of his chest.

"Mister!  Mister!  We are here!"

Groaning, Ah'Tail nudged the little Sin'Dorei girl from her position over his chest and sat up.  Sure enough the boat was safely docked at the town of Ratchet.  It had to have been close to or slightly past noon-time as the sun was unrelenting in its feverous heat.  "Golly it’s hot, Mister!"

Ah'Tail looked down at the girl again; her fair complexion was soon to burn in such brutal elements.  This only provoked a smile to spread across the Troll’s visage.  "You promised you would take me to see the Caverns today!  You promised, you promised, you promised!"
