Daraman's picture

Unexpected Beauty

Daraman looked around him in awe of what he was witnessing.  He had heard stories from some of the tauren in Camp Mojache, but they had never said it was anything like this.  Even some of his friends in the Circle hadn't mentioned how awe-inspiringly beautiful this land had become.  Surrounded by the grey wastes of Desolace was a field of verdant green, dotted all along the outskirts by small saplings, either alone or together in groups.  Wisps circled some, lending their energies to encourage this new growth while kodo roamed across this new life, watched over by Cenarion Ancients.  And at the center of this sea of new life, great trees with leaves of violet and jade towered over the surrounding landscape, forming a protective circle around what lay inside.  Inside, members of the Cenarion Circle, tauren and kal'dorei alike, worked to continue to foster the growth as well as to help sustain what they had already create

Lueli's picture

They would be there, waiting for her.

She spent each day in the service of interests other than her own. Perhaps this was why she never questioned the night. When her waking hours belonged to strangers, it seemed appropriate that her dreams should as well.

She did not know them, the subjects of those dreams, nor did she wish to. They were storybook figures- unreal, unreachable, remnants of a lost tale delivered from some long forgotten tongue. Still, there is always a degree of simple comfort in the familiar, and perhaps Lueli drew some strength from the knowledge that, when she closed her eyes, they would be there, waiting for her.

Seven Days Back, Part 4

I'm beginning to believe there are no Elders in Desolace. Not that I was told any were here, but I came through Stonetalon after checking up on Miss Minna's little house there. It was as we left it, full of memories. I found one of Shar's little vials propped up in the corner of a windowsill. I took it with me as I left, taking the road down from the peak, through the dry mountains and into Desolace.

Landing (1)

((Major skip of time to be more or less in the present.))

She was scarcely conscious of stale air. Warm and comforting, but stale. The same air she had just breathed out re-entered her nostrils. It was a confined, dark place.

It was the smothering sensation of suffocation that brought her to awareness -- or to be more precise, that stubborn state of awareness where grogginess tries to pull you back into slumber. Akanlian could ignore the discomfort of clammy, recycled oxygen and easily return to oblivion..or she could be responsible and awaken. Though her mind was not operating well enough to actually remember *what* needed to be done, she knew that there was work as always.

Gorguutz's picture

Awakening

Morning over Desolace.

The sun's rays crept over the eastern mountains that sheltered Shadowprey Village, bringing the fishing village to life. The orcs, trolls, and few tauren that lived here rose to meet the morning, and the work that it brought. One orc in particular was studiously avoided by the rest of the inhabitants of the village. This orc was larger than most, and from it's armor, obsessed with the colour red.

Gorguutz 'ead'unta sniffed the air and stretched his arms, hearing a sickening yet satisfying pop from his shoulders. He looked around, smiling a toothy grin at the town he'd adopted as his own, for the time being at least. It had everything an orc like Gorguutz could want. Fresh air, plentiful meat, hostile forces nearby just begging to be slaughtered on a daily basis, and best of all...

Tea?

As they neared the small group of tents, Lilly pulled apart from the others. They had been getting on her nerves while they had traveled. Young, stupid, and proud, only the Dalarian Protector had a decent idea of what to expect. Lilly sighed and trotted up to the main tent slowly. Ulteck was already waiting for her, looking almost like he had when she had first met him.
