Astranaar

A simple test

Mairead for her own reasons offered her estates Dalaran as a place of refuge from my father and the beast he had summoned to kill me.  I accepted as it was one place where that demon would never be able to touch me as I recovered.

Plus there was a  major bonus she had a library.

It was one room where I could completely relax since even the servants didn't  bother or try to wait on me in there.

Honoring Alliance Towns - Astranaar

This forthcoming Friday, March 5th at seven o'clock Goblin Servo Time, the Commonwealth guild will host its third event to honor the people, contributions and history of smaller Alliance towns.  This time we'll be paying tribute to the lakeside settlement of Astranaar and the stalwart night elves who keep it safe from the neighboring Horde, deep in the scenic forest of Ashenvale!

The Watcher, The Witness, and A Wraith

Astranaar is a ruin of fired buildings and the leavings of war in a blaze of destruction that stretches north through Darkshire and Auberdine to Darnassus and across the sea to the lands of the dwarves and humans. Tamlin is a witness to it all as he moves south from the Titans' fortress in Northrend homeward.

He has found a fight in every land he has traveled through from the Stormpeaks to Kalimdor as just recently, the Horde have come in force in retaliation for the decimation of their lands; Undercity, Silvermoon and Thunderbluff. Tamlin rode against them all and now he is left bereft, guilty and furious. Curse them and damn the luck that brought them while he and the Warden's band struggled in Ulduar.

Always the battle...always the fight...he thinks to himself and sighs. There is no end to this.

A Walk in the Woods

Astranaar

“There’s nothing more we can do.”

The words slapped me in the face. I looked back and forth between the druid and the priestess, looking for some sign in their silvery eyes and impassive purple faces.

“But there’s still so much to do, we were doing well…”

“And the rest is up to you,” the priestess spoke up, looking at me finally. “More progress must come from you alone. The Draenei began your healing, and we’ve continued it to this point. You must go alone from here. We wish you luck, Lirriel.”

I felt like my neck was carved from wood as I nodded in reply. I turned to leave, afraid I wouldn’t be able to contain myself much longer. I think the druid began to speak, but I didn’t listen. I was trying to get to my room where I could scream and throw things in private.

Coda

Alizon is angry. She tears her hand away from Tamlin. “I am tired of this,” she tells him,  in a tight threatening tone. He shies away and internally curses his colossal ill fortune that both Saunee and Alizon should appear in Astranaar at the same time…after many moons of not seeing either of them.

Saunee made a point to speak to him concerning their son, Tamaryn, who is also long absent. “He walks between,” Tamlin reminds the druid and she agrees…

“He has wandered far from any sense I have of him,” she says sadly and proceeds to tell him that she will be going to the Dream as a sleeper. Tamlin finds this unlikely, for females are not called such and he tells her so. Her reasoning and explanations are vague, as per usual though her request seems direct enough.

A Good Idea at the Time

Timory silenty swam up to the shore of Astranaar, she always hated having to run around the place to get through Ashenvale. She faded into the shadows and began stalking through the town. The sentinels were busy with petty Night Elf matters, riding cats and hugging trees, whatever it is they do, all she knew is that they seemed distracted enough.
