XFaction Text Based RP Event

Announcing a new text based Cross Faction Roleplay Event to be held on Monday nights from 7-8PM Server Time! Think you're interested? We'll here is what you need to know!

The Event will be held in a Jabber chat room: WhiteHartTavern_XShc

There is no password, just come on in! Your alias or handle MUST be your actual in-game character name! All races, classes, factions, and levels allowed.

Description of the Event and Surroundings (PLEASE READ before you attend the event to cut down on any confusion):

The White Hart Tavern & Hunting Lodge is nestled in the snowy mountains of Winterspring, a good hike away from Everlook. This hearty Tavern is several hundred years old, originally forged from hefted stone by dwarves. Now, the Tavern & Hunting Lodge serves as a way stop for weary travelers from the cold, as well as a reputable business hub in the Northern Kalimdor lands. The establishment is now said to be owned by an aloof and wealthy Ethereal being who has been spotted visiting once or twice, but nobody truly knows and many suspect this story to be simple hogwash. The wait staff on hand is comprised of Humans, Dwarves, Tauren, and Goblins and has a strict cross-faction tolerance policy.

The locals will tell you that the peace is so well kept here, that business traders wishing to smuggle goods through the faction lines have a fairly well established black market trade line going through The White Hart Tavern & Hunting lodge - from harmless hard-to-get ingredients and recipes to priceless jewels and artifacts.

On the surface, however, the White Hart is simply a great place to warm your feet by the fire, stop in for ale and a bowl of warm stew, or stop over for the night in your travels.

Please Note: At this time I cannot provide PC staffmembers, so if you need to interact with them assume they are an NPC and attempt to write your own conversations, make up staff members, etc. I know thats not really ideal, but I'm working on how to deal with this issue :)

By the same token, if someone wants to volunteer to PLAY a set staff member (doesn't have to be an established toon in WoW - here's your chance to play a non-playable race!) I'd really love that >.>

Layout:

The layout is modeled exactly like the generic "Inn" style in WoW, which can be seen in locales like Brill or Silverpine Forest. There are three floors, however you can use your imagination to give yourself more room to RP in than the cramped In-Game models (i.e. we don't necessarily have to hear your conversation in the kitchen from the front door). I submit these crude guidelines to jog your memory if you aren't sure. I didn't draw the cellar as its pretty self explanatory.

Okay, so if you're still with me and interested in showing up, but have no idea how, here are your guidlines! You will need to download GAIM to follow these instructions.

1. Install and Load up Gaim

2. Click "Accounts" and then "+ Add"

3. Set your Protocol to Jabber, your server to jabber.org, and your resource to Gaim. Your screename CAN be anything, but make sure your alias is your character name. Hit "Register" and then confirm your Registration.

4. Go to Buddies/Add Chat

5. Your roomname is WhiteHartTavern_XShc! Server is conference.jabber.org. There is no password. This room should now be set on your buddylist everytime you sign in.
