The Plague: How Did You Survive?

So. How did your character survive the plague of undeath?
I've heard fire and hiding. I've even heard immunity.
So. No night elves, please, unless they were there, which no one was.
How?

"I have read a book that
"I have read a book that was located within the library of Silvermoon that spoke briefly of this exact topic. Through the course of his experimentations, Ner'zhul insured that the affliction would specifically target humans for "undeath". Though non-human races and creatures (and even the land itself) were susceptible to the plague, it was humanity in particular that Ner'zhul meant to scour from the world. I survived the plague because the plague decided to not affect me. It was meant for humans, and though there are other races that have been tainted by it, I was lucky to have something within me that kept me from being attacked by it."

"No one is something just because they say they are something."
That may be the case,
That may be the case, however, the existence of the skeletons that rise from the dead scar as well as the plagued who wander Quel'Thelas directly proves otherwise. The elves that died rise as banshees primarily from my understanding, although that could just be the women. The dead that wander our land still are not necessarily human dead.
As for my characters:
Shryndael was in Dalaran when Quel'Thelas was razed.
Thienna was hiding in a box.
Vanista was one of the defenders and was fortunate to survive.
Maethori lived in a hut in the forest, way off the beaten path.
"Well I am not dead, so I
"Well I am not dead, so I guess I was not risen as a banshee. Hm, fancy that. As I said, the book that I am referencing says that the plague was not meant for anyone but humans, though it could affect other races for some unknown reason. I was lucky enough to not be exposed to it when it was on it's rampage, or if I was exposed my immune system beat it out."

"I died before the plauge came to Dalaran....Another time for that one. When the mist came to me and my brothers and sisters in the Graves we arose as Skeletal mages. Fighting for the Scourge and our king. For a little while, till the coue(sp) Took place with the Dark Queen. After we broke free I had no real memory of who I was. I had affinity for Fel magick. So I studied as a Warlock. Nearly 4 years later...By Azeroth time that is. Nearly 700 in a diffrent time phrame. Here I am! A demon.
This goes out to all the Death Knight elves out there. You think you have it bad? Have you ever been able to un-attach your arm. Use it as a back scratcher, then re-attach it?
I didnt think so.....

I was in the forest when
I was in the forest when they attacked Quel'thalas with the others who couldn't fight. We were lucky the scourge was concerned with finding the Sunwell more than killing off the children and elderly.

My Priest didn't survive
My Priest didn't survive the plague. She wasn't even alive for it. She was just a typical farm girl tending her families vineyard in Northshire. Then the Defias uprising happened. Her family was slaughtered and only she made it to the Abbey and safety.
Akiri was living in the
Akiri was living in the trees of Azshara. She was mostly unaware of the 3rd war.
For my human characters,
For my human characters, they all fled. Gavrisom and Arylia both left Lordaeron for Stormwind at the beginning of the outbreak. On a timeline, I would put it somewhere after the culling of Stratholme and prior to fall of Lordaeron.
Aldred was still a kid during the plague. His father was in the Silver Hand fighting during the outbreak and had his family leave for Hillsbrad for their own safety. After the fall of Lordaeron, he rejoined them and together they all moved to Westfall.

Wasn't on the planent! Woo! Total safety in outer space.
I was fighting the Horde
I was fighting the Horde and their demon masters on Draenor.
Ultimately, I didn't. I
Ultimately, I didn't.
I carried it for eight years of my life, keeping it suppressed by some miracle of the Light I still don't understand, even in death.
I wrote a paper on it once, copies of which are still in the Stormwind libraries and elsewhere; I tried very hard to make sure my experiences would survive me.
Which they have.
I was at sea, with me
I was at sea, with me da.
Mum wasn't so lucky.

I do what must be done,
My duty, pleasure, and doom.
These things you cannot do,
Lest the soul be marred and stained;
For the Light protects the pure,
And the Crusade must prevail.
