Compendium - A List of RP Guilds on Shadow Council
Reposted as forum topic as per request, Arti.
After reading Hakkajin's thread, I realized that on both Horde and Alliance side there seems to be a lack of knowledge regarding RP guilds that currently exist. In order for RP to flourish and take off again on Shadow Council, we NEED to support each other. It doesn't matter if you are RP all the time, some of the time, in guild chat or toon-to-toon. Knowing what each guild is about means that when you snag that RPer who is NOT quite the right fit for YOUR guild, you can get them to a guild where the fit will be better. If you're looking for a guild, this thread will help you decide which guild suits what you're looking for. This will also be an awesome resource for those who want to plan events with each other, or try to foster guild-to-guild relations, or try to take over the world ^_^.
Someone requested that we have a way to ask questions. If you want to ask questions, please do so here - just be certain to reply to the specific guild you have the question for, and don't turn it into a huge discussion or debate. Just ask your question, get your answer and move on. I've provided an 'example' as a reply to my listing for Pox if anyone doesn't know what I mean.
Format is below the cut, and thanks to those who support the idea.

About Guild:
Pox began as a military guild intent on destroying the Alliance. Their devotion to the cause was fanatical, leading them against those of better skill and larger numbers regardless of the outcome. They would kill their enemies, or die trying! As time progressed, Pox expanded to be much more than a mindless, fanatical body opposing the Alliance. Factions formed within the guild, and those factions vie for the favour of their leader, their Bringer, Shryn'Dael Keledan. Those in her favour get away with more than those without and garner larger reward.
Regarded by most of the Silvermoon community as a guild that barely remains on the legal side of military, there are often those who whisper the names of those in Pox and the word terrorist in the same sentence. They are well known for their cruelty and barbaric nature in regards to their enemy, and their noble leader - perhaps the most civilized of them all - is notably impatient with the trappings of noble society.
Pox dabbles quite openly in the pseudo legal, such as privateering, slavery, and torture.
At two years old and with over 100 members through more than 70 player accounts, Pox is the largest Horde role-playing guild. We pride ourselves on the firm control we have on OOC drama, keeping the drama in character only. We have a high activity level on all members, with over 90% logging in weekly, and most of that daily. We are helpful, nice people OOC, and offer our assistance in levelling and gearing while teaching players how to play their class and stand on their own feet.
---
RP in guild chat is welcome and encouraged, though we do not require all members use guild chat in this way. If no one is RPing, people are welcome to use the channel for OOC. IF RP is ongoing, we use a specially set up channel for OOC chat, so as to not interrupt RP. RP in guild chat happens in the guild Estates; if RP happens in guild chat it is something that anyone can join in on, as it is a public place and channel.
We ask members to be over 18, as on occasion things are said in guild chat that are not appropriate for minors. Exceptions have been and probably will be made again, especially since the guild leader tends to ask applicants ages. -_-
RP in raid and instances depends on guild make up and preference.
During PvP Raids on towns, raid chat and ventrilo are used to coordinate. Anything said, yelled, or emoted is IC, however. World PvP happens for IC reasons.
Members are expected to have a biography posted on the biography portion of the website, and there is a part of the website where post-by-post RP occurs, should you wish to take part in that aspect of RP. Biographies are read and commented on by the guild officers for lore veracity. (No gnome lovechilds of Illidan and Jaina, raised by taurens to be a blood elf paladin until they morphed into a troll warlock, k?)
Example
This is an example question.
Q: I've heard that Pox hates the Nightsabres and Aktarin. Why? Is it IC or OOC? Both?
Example
This is an example answer.
A: Pox does hate the Nightsabres and Aktarin, though it is a wholly IC hatred built through months of role-play. Aktarin killed Shryn's babies, Shryn tortured Aktarin's beloved. There's a lot of IC emotion that ranges from an odd sort of fondness (we love our enemies) to bitter hatred and pain and loathing.
Though there are sometimes heated emotions and disagreements between Aktarin and Shryndael, both recognize each other as good people out of character and have nothing but respect for each other. When Shryn's grandfather died, a newspaper printed a wonderful article about his illustrious baseball career. They could not get a paper copy of it, however, but Aktarin's inlaws still had the paper, and she got it mailed to her, clipped it for Shryn, and mailed it to her. If you need any more evidence of an awesome person, it won't be found unless she adopts all of Africa (and Angelina's babies).
If you want to read about the adventures/conflict between the Nightsabres and Pox, please do a quick search for 'Pox-Nightsabres Conflict' to read the blogs in the series of events.
((*snuggles the Shryn-player
((*snuggles the Shryn-player OOCly.. ICly attacks and tries to kill!
Also.. can I destroy the babies? No more Hollywood dynasties and overly fertile starlets!))

About Guild:
The Penumbra Infantry is a small mercenary army, currently contracted by the Stormwind government to increase the security of the kingdom and assist in the war.
Guild Name: Order of the
Guild Name: Order of the Nightsabre
Faction: Alliance
Created on: Feb 27/2005 (Oldest active guild on Shadow Council whooo!)
Guild Leader: Warden Aktarin Shadowsong
Persons of Note: Warden Aktarin Shadowsong, Cenarion Mistress Amoona Everclaw, Blademaster Aradhel Shar'Alah, Daughter of Elune Aurorana, Cenarion Master Aquanus Galesong, Watcher Captain Drakenn, Watcher Captain Tarokk Isera'Duna, Nightsabre Commander Navires, Daughter of the Dark Moon Soto, Sentinel Captain Zaikyu Windrage, Theryl, Belmilia, Celise, Elzabetha, Phiandria, Permelia, and so many it hurts my brain to recall them all <.<
Guild RP Theme: A militant organization of largely Kal'dorei zealots, the Nightsabres were founded by the Kal'dorei as a union of the Sentinel Army, the remnants of the Watchers, and the Cenarion Circle. The Order only accepted its first humans in the fall of 2005, and warlocks and mages only were permitted entry in late summer 2008 due to the long history of wariness Kal'dorei have felt toward such addicted and potentially corrupt people. The purpose of the Order is threefold, as befits a group formed initially of three disparate factions within Kal'dorei culture. The Sentinel elements of the Sabres seek to defend the lands of their people and their allies from aggression by the Horde and by roving bandits and evil people. The Watchers seek to identify threats and eliminate them before they set foot in defended lands - even if it means striking into the tallest spire of Blackrock mountain, or the most closely guarded Horde citadel. The Cenarion Circle seeks balance in all things, and both to heal the Order and the peoples it defends, and also to guard their dedicated souls and minds from insanity and the corruption of modernity.
The newly established rank of Commissioned/Auxiliary holds those the Nightsabre Commander Navires commanded the Warden to permit into the guild as tools to further the need to balance and rebalance the worlds of Azeroth and the Outlands. There the warlocks, death knights and mages reside, not entirely welcomed by the others, but tolerated so long as they prove useful. Navires' druidic connections as a Cenarion Mistress also demonstrated to her the importance of mastering the tools of the Nightsabres' enemies to better defeat them. Her pragmatic wisdom led to success after success, and the Auxiliaries are here to stay.
Guild Chat Style: Guildchat is set in a fictional fortress in Dragonlight, in the Lothalor Woodlands. Originally, guildchat took place in an ancient Sentinel fortress, once home to the Nightblade Sentinels who died to Grom Hellscream's invasion of Ashenvale with their sister armies. That hall was mystically sealed, and the new fortress permits those with shadow magics to enter freely as the first did not. Guildchat is fully in character within the setting - ooc is provided in a text channel. We ask that guildchat be appropriate for the audience it's written for and the setting it takes place in - would you get naked in the middle of a military barracks with people blinking at you and do the nasty? Would those watching be expected NOT to wing hot tea, snowballs, etc at you if you did? Party and whispers are preferred for mature situations - no one likes snow up their shirt! The new and old halls both bear enchantments preventing greater demonic entry - this was originally to prevent godmodded RP styles involving giant uber demons from the center of the earth coming to chew people or perpetually curse and torment the more masochistic RPers we've seen over the years. Guildchat tends to be relaxed and calm, as one might imagine a barracks of weary fighters between combat to be, though tensions certainly exist between the four factions of Sabres, and fun RP can always happen as a result.
Raiding/Instancing Style: No raids without IC reason for them - notoriously, the Sabres never assaulted Azuregos, as the great blue dragon was a neutral defender and protector of the magics hidden in Azshara, and it would have run contrary to the guild's theme for us to ever attack one of our powerful allies. When the raid is preparing for a pull, or coming back after a wipe, there is constant /say and /yell RP. Characters interact IC in raids, though raidchat and ventrilo are OOC.
PvP Style: PvP is a constant for a large number of Nightsabres, and in world context, always IC. In BG's, IC rules can slip, but premades are generally speaking fully IC, though voicechats aren't. Characters don't PvP without IC reasons, as a rule.
Other RP Thingies: Sabres hold periodic guild meetings when necessary - rank is attained through loyalty for the first rank, then through RP swearing of an oath to Elune before the Warden Aktarin, whom the would-be Sentinel or Watcher also swears to obey implicitly. Druids automatically join the Cenarion ranks, and attend druidic meetings and RP events organized by the three Cenarion Master ranked Nightsabre Commanders. Guild ranks are a bit odd due to the three-part (now four with the Commissioned/Auxiliary rank addition for warlocks, DKs and mages) nature of the guild, and the linear promotion system Blizzard forces.
Special Requirements: potential guildmembers must write a RP essay at www.ootn-guild.com to apply, or RP extensively with officers or the guild leader in order to be considered. This element of the application process tends to weed out the immature or those merely interested in endgame raiding and phat lewts. The essay and RP has to somehow explain why anyone would willingly join a fanatic group of zealots, swearing fealty to Elune and the Kal'dorei faith, and obeying a driven, dutiful Warden who will punish disobedience as any military organization could be imagined to. (people have been killed in guildchat before <.<) Without some explanation for a character's desire to enter the Order, the chances of a successful application are small.
Website Link: www.ootn-guild.com
About Guild: As mentioned above, Sabres is the oldest active guild on Shadow Council, and the reason for this has tended to be due to the relaxed attitude of guildmates, the dedication to one another within the guild, the RP ties, and the shared desire to pursue RP-driven goals with longtime friends. The guild began as a fully RP guild, and was one of the first to initiate and emphasize the possibility of raiding while remaining in a smaller RP guild. The Nightsabres spearheaded one of ShC's two organizations dedicated to bringing endgame content to RP guilds withou losing the RP, and the Sabres learned a LOT during that 11 month process. Many luminaries of the server have wandered through the Sabres' ranks over the years, and at this stage, the guild has found a stable balance between raiding content (and RPing during), RP story arcs, and the enjoyment of PvP many members have. What was once a complete improbability in WoW has become the everyday fact of life inguild, as members can enjoy every aspect of the game while following their storylines. The guild isn't entirely for the hardcore player at anything, balanced between so many things, and the guild has an inertia driven by the simple pleasure so many have found in things being as they are and remaining thus. In BC, Sabres progressed into BT and Hyjal, happily roleplaying as they went, and in WoTLK, Sabres are pushing ino heroics, staring in horrified awe as they cough through Naxxramas or gape at a slain black dragon.
Nightsabres has a history on ShC that many of us are very proud of - when there's world PvP, we almost inevitably have a showing out to join in. Our RP and good humour has been commented on by many, and strong ties bind the Sabres to many of ShC's larger raiding guilds and heavy RP guilds by virtue of the members we've contributed to both sides of the fence, and those who've come to join our ranks from each in turn.

Updated info, 11/2010 !
Guild Name: University of Kalimdor
Faction:Horde
Created on: Recreated in August '07; originally created in the summer of '05
Guild Leader: Artisania, Acting Dean and Head Librarian
Persons of Note: Teledriath, Teng (though Teng's not in the guild!)
Guild RP Theme: The University of Kalimdor is an educational institution FOR THE HORDE.
Guild Chat Style: OOC; IC communications are done in-person or via in-game mail
Raiding/Instancing Style: UofK members can and do raid as they please with other groups. IC raiding and instancing is encouraged.
PvP Style: Due to the diplomatic nature of the UofK and desire to share information across faction lines, PvP involvement tends to be of a defensive and not offensive nature.
Other RP thingies: It's perfectly acceptable to be part of the UofK faculty and yet not in the guild. More than anything, the guild serves as a banner and proof of existence of this awesome Horde institution.
Special Requirements: In order to join the UofK, a player must be willing to make consistent contributions to the RP community as either a professor, a researcher, or library assistant. Only characters devoted to portraying faculty and maintaining their involvement with the UofK may join the guild and bear the <University of Kalimdor> title.
Potential professors must present at least one lecture or field trip event for the general public and should have ideas for more. Researchers don't have to do IC events, but are expected to make their research known by continually writing and posting on the realm forums and RP-haven.com. Library assistants don't have to do either but must be available to other RPers for use of the UofK library.
It is expected that being part of the UofK will be integrated into the character's RP on a regular basis, and they will be willing to be a "touchpoint" for UofK information for other characters. If a player doesn't want this continued responsibility, it's perfectly cool to do a guest lecture or "publish" material in conjunction with UofK sponsorship.
Students do not join the UofK unless they are graduating to becoming a Professor, Researcher, or Library Assistant. Students are, however, kept on a mailing list to receive information about upcoming events.
About Guild: The UofK was born of a forum discussion in the summer of 2005 under the first Dean, Cloudmaker. For a time, the guild boasted an impressive roster of professors in various departments, the Deanship passing to Saffiy. UofK field trips were known as great opportunities to both meet other RPers and learn about the lore of the game world. By the time I inquired about the guild in 2007, much of the interest had dispersed and the guild had been disbanded. With Saffiy's blessing and assistance from Teng, I remade UofK with Artisania as the Acting Dean (Saffiy's position of Dean always preserved in case of her return) and Teledriath as my Assistant Dean.
Since then we have hosted a smattering of events and field trips, from both in-guild professors and guest lecturers. More importantly, the UofK remains an in-game institution for characters' academic needs.
The UofK offices exist on Thunder Bluff, with central importance placed on the Library on Spirit Rise. The Library is always open for the general public to use; if anyone has any questions or needs a book stamped out, please feel free to send me an in-game letter. If I can't be reached on Artisania, I am also Tandinis and Bangaal Hordeside, and Echö, Tavlo, Ineesa, Lorith, Rasma and Ilaana A-side. I can also be reached on RP-Haven.com via PM any time; I'm usually logged as Echo but will be happy to talk about any UofK matters.
Just call me Artie, dear.

Special Requirements:

About Guild: The Scourgebane Resolute was formed by Animos and Xhaztol who believe that the Scourge is the largest threat to Azeroth. The guild is made up of people fighting the scourge for a variety of reasons ranging from hatred for the scourge to love of spoils of war. The guild is not hostile to the Alliance since we would rather be fighting the scourge, however we do not turn the other cheek when attacked.
We use guild chat and raid chat for general chatter and coordination. We use ventrillo for raids and instances. Our IC channels are /say /emote /yell. If people would like to get involved with Scourgebane but already have a great guild they are part of you may join us in our channel "Northward".

Guild Name: Edge of Winter
Faction: Horde
Created on: Current incarnation creaded a month or two ago, core base has been playing together for over a year.
Guild Leader: Rolfgar
Persons of Note: Wildmane, Neun, Kyetzai, Thrinik
Guild RP Theme: None
Guild Chat Style: OOC
Raiding/Instancing Style: 2-3 days/week raid, daily instancing
PvP Style: Casual
Othe RP Thingies: Forums in which people are encouraged to RP, in guild story lines take place
Special Requirements: An...interesting sense of humor
Website Link: edgeofwinter.guildomatic.com/forums/
About Guild: Edge of Winter is not a "RP" guild by standards, but is mostly a raid/instancing guild full of people who love to RP. We occasionally have guild events, parties, and the like. Not for hardcore RPers, very casual environment. Age 18+ preferred.
Guild Name: Blackwater
Guild Name: Blackwater Buccaneers/Blackwater Horde Branch
Faction: Cross-faction
Created on: 2005 or 2006.
Guild Leader: Herriman, Tsilas
Persons of Note: Herriman Nathaniel Flynt VII, Tsilas Blackwater, William Frostwood, Katherine Swiftwisper Flynt, Blind Tom, George Cockburn
Guild RP Theme: A family led company of pirates, currently serving under Herriman Nathaniel Flynt VII. The actual pirateness of the organization is kept secret, with the Cropes Trading Co. serving as their front. Tsilas is known in public as Captain Luis, and Herriman as John Cropes.
Guild Chat Style: OOC, typically, but we do use gchat for RP in cases that we can't do said RP ingame. Ship battles, as an example.
Raiding/Instancing Style: Most of our PvE is OOC. Most WoW content doesn't fit the guild theme, really. There have been, and will be exceptions, however.
PvP Style: While some of our members PvP quite often, it is not a part of the guild theme in most cases.
Other RP Thingies: The pirates have built a town on an island off of the coast of Northrend, called Flyntlocke Harbor. The town has extensive docks, as it is used primarily for trade, but also is home to residential areas, many warehouses, taverns, inns, and Tsilas' and Herriman's personal homes. IC, almost any profession of character is perfectly fitted to the guild. However, IC plate-wearers may have a harder time getting in. (I say IC, because both Herriman and Tsilas are plate-classes.)
Special Requirements: A love o' th'sea and a lust fer magnificent booty! Or, y'know, any kind of RP reason to want to be a merchant, or mercenary, or what have you!
Website Link: Has none. :<
About Guild: Blackwater Buccaneers/Horde Branch is a pure RP guild. We don't schedule raids, we don't regularly world or bg PvP. We have held RP events in the past (Booty Bay gamling night, for example, which was a blast) and would like to host more in the future. Guild is very casual, and a lot of it's members (myself included) log on with the hope to RP, before anything else.
Guild Name: Spirit of
Guild Name: Spirit of Renewal
Faction: Alliance
Created on: 9/10/08
Guild Leader: Kyiera Wolfsung
Persons of Note: Aydin and Adrazel Hollowynd (officers)
Guild RP Theme: Spirit of Renewal was created to take the spirit that helped us all through the recent war and turn it toward something more positive - rebuilding ourselves and our world - as well as continuing to protect ourselves and our allies against those that seek to harm us.
Guild Chat Style: Guild chat is IC with an optional OOC channel. I think of guild chat as a kind of real time magical form of communicating with other members even when we are not in close proximity to each other - telepathic communication, I suppose.
Raiding/Instancing Style: IC except when dire need calls for OOC communication (ie we're going to die and can't type fast enough IC). We don't raid yet, but plan to eventually as we grow. There should be some IC reason for instancing/raiding.
PvP Style: Right now we don't generally PvP as a guild. However, we are in the process of establishing an RP alliance with a horde guild that will probably involve some PvP. In this case, it would all be IC. BGs would generally be OOC.
Other RP Thingies: We run the Spirit Tavern in the park in Stormwind. As mentioned about, we also hope to establish an alliance with a horde guild - this will probably involve a fair amount of rp on forums with scheduled events in game to carry on the storyline. Try to host one big open-to-the-public event, every month or two. We are new and still growing, so some of this is a bit sporadic now, but we are definately moving forward and getting more organized.
Special Requirements: Members are expected to treat others (not just guild members) with respect. We look for members that are interested in being involved in the guild - this means participating in events, helping out guild members, speaking in guild chat and visiting the website. We understand that we all need alone time sometimes, but we're looking for folks that generally like to be social and active in the guild. Members are required to register on the website.
Website Link: http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=273811&TabID=2298373
About Guild: I consider ourselves a heavy RP guild. All activities are IC. We do quite a bit of socializing and PvE. In the future, we plan to add some raiding, and PvP if there is interest. The best thing to do if you are interested is visit our website and review the charter and rules. You can also contact myself (Kyiera), Aydin, or Adrazel or stop by the Spirit Tavern (Mondays and Fridays 5:30 - 7:30 server time).

Guild Name: The Silver
Guild Name: The Silver Dragoons
Faction: Alliance
Created: May 2005
Guild Leader: Bennet "Hellfire" Harrigan
Persons of Note: Commander Harrigan, Major Larosa Oakenfel, Judiciary Lirriel Meterein, Lt. Delphiee Callaghan, Lt. Alynore Forrester.
Guild RP Theme: Elite Stormwind military unit, agents of Prince Anduin Wrynn. We're often in and around Stormwind IC.
Guild Chat Style: IC communications via guildstone. /s, /y, and emotes are IC. Alternate channel exists for OOC chatter. Party/Raid chats are usually OOC for coordination. We also have an IC RP channel for players who wish to RP being in SW on their Dragoon while OOC elsewhere, or while on an alt, or for more "unit private" RP (that other guildies can spy on!).
Raiding/Instancing Style: Some IC "training missions". Also depends if we're with others and what they do. We're small, so individuals go with allied guilds such as The Meddlers.
PvP Style: Individual, though attacks on SW and surrounding Shires are often reacted to IC. We don't IC go on offensive against the Horde; we're defensive!
Other RP Thingies: We have cool uniforms (least others seem to think so!). Our HQ is within the Keep, just off the gardens. We often have some individual storylines going, but don't push them on people unless they wanna get involved; we're fairly relaxed. We do, however, want people to at least try to keep up on activity and RP with fellow Dragoons, as well as promote RP in general.
Current Active Alliances: The Meddlers (mostly OOC). The Gray Myst Alliance (all OOC). A fair number of individuals.
Special Requirements: Don't be a Death Knight. Don't summon demons. Be loyal to the nation and people of Stormwind, and to the Prince. Be willing to follow orders IC, and help fellow Dragoons. RP with us, fill in the IC application form provided on our forums, and have an IC interview with an officer to become a Recruit; we also have other options for characters not quite ready to be military IC but want to be part of the Dragoons. Meetings are every Wednesday evening at 7 server time in the Petitioner's Chamber in Stormwind's Keep, and are open to the public. Characters are expected to be active and involved as our only focus as a guild is RP.
Website Link: The Silver Dragoons has info pages and pinned forum topics with many more details! The old Guild Portal site is no longer being updated.
About Guild: As agents of the Prince, members are able to go out into the field to investigate and assist in Alliance military matters, reporting back to Stormwind regularly. Right now, there's a hardline stance against Death Knights that isn't likely to be lifted any time soon. Many members are leery of them IC, and the Commander refuses to change his position. We usually direct interested DK's to other groups. For Warlocks, only non-summoners are considered (if demons are only used OOC), and even then, some members may not get along IC with that character.
Also, not to be confused with "Silver Dragoons", a younger raid guild with a very similar name.

Kingdom of Quel Thalas
Guild Name: The <Kingdom of Quel Thalas>
Faction: Horde
Created on: 2007, BC release date.
Guild Leader: Elexandre Solisbane
Persons of Note: The Convocates/officers are Aramalia Solisbane, Sebastien Kerwin, Giussepe Quattrocchi, Daras Goldleaf, and Olette Umbra.
Guild RP Theme: Political Intrigue, Elven Government, Military
Guild Chat Style: Guild chat is rarely used, though at times it has served for "walkee-talkee" long distance communication, tavern-style roleplay, and OOC guild meetings. Roleplaying occurs face-to-face in the game world, rather than in a channel.
Raiding/Instancing Style: Many of our members enjoy raiding and instancing, but neither are organized as official guild events.
PvP Style: Same as above, though world PvP may occur as needed for a storyline.
Other RP Thingies:
*Heavy RP; roleplaying is our sole focus as a guild.
*Website/Forum for OOC coordination, IC character blogs, and backstories.
*Most members are Blood Elves, but other Horde races are certainly welcome to join.
*Roleplay occurs primarily in Silvermoon, but is not limited to there.
Special Requirements:
*Stringent spelling and grammar requirements; literate typers only.
*Character concepts and backstories must not flagrantly violate WoW lore.
*No drama llamas please!

About Guild:
TKoQ is a heavy roleplaying guild, created with the release of The Burning Crusade by our visionary founder, Marcao. We are comprised of Silvermoon's citizens, soldiers, nobility, and government. Essentially, we're an out-of-character collection of in-character players. What this means is that rather than having our guild function as an organization in which all the members share a common goal (for example, a mercenary company, coven of sorcerers, or the Scarlet Crusade), TKoQ encompasses the entirety of Quel'thalas. It is our aim to create a living, breathing kingdom and an immersive representation of Blood elven society.
Our emphasis is on quality, mature roleplaying that observes Warcraft lore and meets stringent grammar and spelling requirements. Commonwealth
Guild Name: Commonwealth
Faction: Alliance
Created on: April 22nd, Year 33 (2009).
Guild Leader: Lisa Graviton is the Prime Tinker, though management decisions will be made jointly with a body of Functionaries (guild officers).
Persons of Note: Nenalie Arclight and Evra Valence are also founding members.
Guild RP Theme: An adventurer's guild for more down-to-earth heroes of modest ability. See our charter and FAQ for more information!
Guild Chat Style: Fully in-character. New guild members are provided a gnomish buzzbox (walkie-talkie) that can be used to communicate across large distances. This is in addition to face to face RP, not replacing it, for you silly folks who dislike IC guild chat. Characters can't always be together in-game, and this provides potential for RP in those situations where there would otherwise be none.
Raiding/Instancing Style: Apart from perhaps the odd instance run here and there, we won't be scheduling events that specifically involve instancing or raiding. The guild has a full-time RP focus, and as a general rule, we want our events to be open to players of all levels, not just those whom the game permits to step through a swirly portal. That said, on the rare chance it happens, any instance runs would be fully in-character.
PvP Style: Same note as for raiding/instancing above.
Other RP Thingies: The guild is still very new, but once we've taken in a good number of members, we plan to start holding weekly guild meetings. These will be open to the public, and we'll announce the day and time as soon as we figure out a schedule that works for the majority of the membership.
Special Requirements:
Website Link: http://www.rabbly.net/commonwealth/
About Guild:
Commonwealth aims to bring a sense of scale, danger and wonder back to Azeroth. We want the guild to be stress-free and welcoming to those with more limited gameplay schedules. For those who can't or don't want to become heavily involved in higher-end content, we aim to provide an environment where your character can feel more at home, and not feel overwhelmed in the presence of uber-skilled champions of Northrend. We want your character 's strengths to be meaningful and make you an essential member of the team, not rendered superfluous by powerful characters who can drop an assortment of Deus Ex Machinas to solve every problem.
The guild was founded by three gnomes, and has a certain gnomish flavor to it (consider our rank titles, and the presence of a tinker in a leadership position), but the guild is certainly not for gnomes only! We are an Alliance adventurer's guild, and any race is welcome to apply.
Our heraldic crest is a turtle, intended to be a metaphor for strong defense and slow but certain progress ... and because the cool dragons, eagles and wolves were already spoken for. Representative colors of the guild are white, forest green and black.
If you have further questions that aren't answered by the website, feel free to contact me (Lisa) in-game, email me at rabbly@rabbly.net, or send me a PM via RP-Haven.
My apologies

Website Link: http://circleofshadows.guildlaunch.com/
About Guild: A secret covenant of the Horde, dedicated and bound by mutual cause to the exploration of our known worlds and beyond the reaches of known time and space, knowledge of our collective past, and gathering wisdom for what may lie ahead. Encircled were the select few that held up these ideals in the true beginning, when the rest of the worlds were zooming forward at breakneck speeds to overpower and swell like great super giants in the celestials. These few were destined to stand firm on their calling and because of their dedication, other like-minded allies gravitated towards them over the years to help support and provide stability in the cause, to seek out knowledge, to gain wisdom, and benefit our fellows as best we can without encroachment. Led by the grim son of the fallen Arch-Magister, Dredge Sunshadow is the figurehead of the operation. Followed by operatives in various fields of work and talent including the Darksun Knighthood, the Shadowed Hand, the Celestial Keepers, and the Watchers to be the skeleton of the Circle. The rest of the able bodied keep up the pulse and together, as the collective, the Circle finds itself in a time of rebuilding, growth, and opportunity.
Our guild sets itself apart from most other guilds because we give true meaning to the phrase "a family style guild." The members of the Circle have been playing together for several years, through thick and thin. In turn we have developed into tight knit group of close friends willing to do anything for each other. The members of the Circle are what makes this guild stand alone.
The Wandering Blade
Guild Name: The Wandering Blade
Faction: Alliance
Created on: October 09, Taverns Grand Opening the 28th
Guild Leader: Salenia
Persons of Note: Managers: Scotts, Eternia
Guild RP Theme: Being an RP quest hub, Running an Rp Tavern in Stormwind that targets Adventures and people who would hire them to encourage people finding RP connections.
Guild Chat Style: a tool for coordinating and helping us plan and run things smoothly, the channel Wanderingblade is basically the same thing for non-guildies and alts
Raiding/Instancing Style: We hire other people to do things like that
PvP Style: Besides bouncing, we hire others to do that.
Other RP Thingies:
Special Requirements: To participate in the event: Rp, have fun, don't be a jerk, don't god-mod.
To join the guild: Contact Salenia about being hired to work for the tavern, show yourself to be an RPer we can trust OOC to not cause problem, to be accepting of an encouraging new rpers (steering them continue and develop rather than shunning them), to know how to handle OOC issues that arise without being rude and to help the event run smoothly and be fun for all involved. We ask members take a 2 hour shift helping to run the Tavern event if they are available. Race/class doesn't matter being able to Rp a background that explain why your working is more important.

About Guild: I'll finish this later
I don't want to, but I sadly
I don't want to, but I sadly must inform everyone that this guild is no longer active. There are a few members still within it, but they are alt characters and inactive for the majority of the time. With the tavern we were using suddenly being demolished for a fishing area during Cata, and the tavern we wanted to use being taken over by another wonderful tavern group, we have stepped down from this position.
Guild Name: The Silent
Guild Name: The Silent Blade
Faction: Alliance
Created on: The guild itself has been around for a while, but as it's changed hands in leadership, it has been a roleplay guild since 10/20/09
Guild Leader: Reandel (GM), Puppetry (GM lite)
Persons of Note: Reandel
Guild RP Theme: Full time shipping company, part time smuggling operations. We go there.
Guild Chat Style: In-character, the setting of which is located on board The Silent Blade, the flagship of our fleet. Officer chat is available to all ranks and is OoC. Guild chat roleplay is not required.
Raiding/Instancing Style: As a heavy roleplaying guild, we don't officially run instances or raids, but we do have a few 80s that may or may not be interested. It is, again, not our main focus, nor will it be.
PvP Style: Same as above. If the need arises, we'll happily lodge a few arrows/daggers into the enemy, however.
Other RP Thingies: While we are oriented around roleplay as the guild's main focus, we're also ridiculously chatty OoC and we enjoy the community of our guildmates just as much as the actual roleplay. This is a laidback guild with no attendance requirements, no time constraints or demands, and we're all about having fun doing what we stayed on Shadow Council to do. Drama llamas need not apply.
Special Requirements: A brain, maybe. Maybe.

Felsworn
Guild Name: Felsworn
Faction: Horde
Created in: March 2009
Guild Leader: Grimdarah
Persons of Note: Avriella, Dellissa, Xedar, Grimtor, Rezitar
Guild RP Theme: Chaotic Evil
Guild Chat Style OOC
Raiding/Instancing Style: Non-raiding; though we have a few 80s whom we pull in to supplement pugs or heroics we get into.
PvP Style: Occasional battleground nights
Other RP Thingies: Weekly guild meetings,
Special Requirements: Must be 15 or over and be a decent RPer in order to join; Interviews required.
Website Link: http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=316646&TabID=2654733
About Guild: Felsworn was created by Avriella Scarlet and Grimtor. It was originally intended as a safe haven for those under Grim'tor's influence; however, it quickly grew to incorporate all of those who wouldn't be accepted in the more...savory...of the guilds. Felsworn has a reputation for creating chaos and having loose morals. It is said that at one of their meetings they even captured a paladin and gave him away as a prize to whomever could find him.
The guild leader is a half-demon, half-troll who is the son of Grimtor and Floura Drakkari. He views Avriella as his mother and respects her opinion to the utmost.
The second in command, Avriella, is a Death Knight-turned-demon who views the whole of Felsworn as hers to protect. She watches over them and acts as the enforcer and protector of the group.
Any questions, feel free to pm me!

Hey folks, I'm just bumping
Hey folks, I'm just bumping this topic because it's an important one - if there are any RP guilds out there which aren't described here, please consider posting some info. This thread has gotten a little dusty but I hadn't noticed until I linked it to someone looking for an RP guild on the realm forum.
Thanks!

Guild Name: The Meddlers
Faction: Alliance
Created on: 04/05/2005
Guild Leader: Nicholai
Persons of Note: Drogar, Darlain, Henii, Nannyogg, Anka
Guild RP Theme: Heroic Heroes who do Heroic Things.
Guild Chat Style: IC
Raiding/Instancing Style: IC in /say and /e, OOC in /raid and /party
PvP Style: OOC
Other RP Thingies: Weekly public meetings in the basement of Wildhammer Keep in the Hinterlands at 7pm on Thursday nights.
Special Requirements: Be able to have polite, literate conversations in the OOC channel and you're golden.
Website Link: http://www.meddlers.ca/
About Guild: The Meddlers are a group of people who..well.. Meddle. Their main focus is on being heroes because it's generally the right thing to do. OOC they're very family and play style oriented. Generally you can find somebody to help you do just about anything!
----
"Do you know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gets other people killed. You can look it up later."
Also, new members must have
Also, new members must have patience since the trial process can sometimes take a while! We don't do interviews or online applications; each new member gets their own personalized RP trial that they must complete.
Guild Name: La Cosa
Guild Name: La Cosa Nostra
Faction: Horde
Created on: Sometime in 2009.
Guild Leader: Fortune
Persons of Note: While everyone in the guild is a person of note, Saviero and Krinth are good people to approach if you'd like a way into the guild!
Guild RP Theme: A mafioso style family, operating the organized crime in parts of the city while appearing to be upstanding citizens to the casual bystander. They are a long-standing family, known to the underworld and to some members of the Convocacy and law enforcement.
Guild Chat Style: OOC, I like to have a place for people to unwind and chatter, get to know each other.
Raiding/Instancing Style: We've never had a reason to do an IC raid or instance, though if we did I wouldn't be opposed to that in the least.
PvP Style: Also hasn't really factored in, much.
Other RP Thingies: You can generally be inducted into La Cosa Nostra in two different ways. One, as a fresh member of the family, in which case you'll need to build up from the bottom, gain trust, and earn your place. Two, you could join up and be new OOCly, but have been a member of the family for quite some time. Either is acceptable and i'm willing to work it out with people who are interested.
Special Requirements: The only serious requirement I can think of is this-- if you intend to join La Cosa Nostra, you need to be aware that it can't continue to exist without a certain level of secrecy. Every person who is a part of the Velstand family is sworn to the omerta. The omerta is essentially a code of secrecy, binding everyone to the family and forbiding them from betraying the family in any way. While I would be willing to work out a betrayal if the person contacted me about it, I don't want people joining the guild left and right for the sole purpose of "infiltrating the mafia, olol!". Be aware that being under the omerta will secure your fate if you choose to betray the family-- there will be severe consequences, up to the potential death of your character. If you can't accept those terms, please don't join.
Website Link: N/A
About Guild: The Velstand family is old and has a cemented place in Sin'dorei culture. At this current time, their turf encompasses a great deal of the city, with tendrils outreaching to places beyond. Currently, their areas of expertise (which they rule with an iron fist!) is drug peddling and extorting local businesses and organizations. The more people who join up, and the more people who actively oppose La Cosa Nostra, the more fun we'll all be able to have!
Guild Name: Atlas Treasure
Guild Name: Atlas Treasure Salvage
Faction: Horde (Can work Cross Faction as well!)
Created on: July 8, 2010
Guild Leader: Iloam
Persons of Note: Acelynn, Maethori, Iloam
Guild RP Theme: Piracy, Salvaging, Excavation, Exploration
Guild Chat Style: IC
Raiding/Instancing Style: IC
PvP Style: However you want to!
Other RP Thingies: We occasionally do across the fence work, tend to go on RP Excavations (raids) and generally just enjoy having a good time.
Special Requirements: Fill out an application on our website!
Website Link: http://www.atlastreasuresalvage.enjin.com/
About Guild: Atlas Treasure Salvage is an RP business that provides in-game roleplay reasons for a group of similarly themed characters to collect loot from dungeons and raids. The guild themes draw from roguish intrigue, pirates, Indiana Jones, and Steampunk flavors. Guild participation in-game and on the guild website earn guild members promotions within the business and gold commissions. ATS is open to the community to utilize for RP loot purposes, and actively encourages cross-faction roleplay. "Contractor" members of ATS can be of either faction and will not be required to join the guild in-game.

Guild Name: The Gray Myst
Guild Name: The Gray Myst Alliance
Faction: Alliance (though we've done things with Horde in the past)
Created on: The Gray Myst Alliance was founded in 2006. Originally known as the Gray Myst Syndicate, for many years before.
Guild Leader: Ze Wolfe, Staroda Skymane
Persons of Note: Ze Wolfe, Staroda Skymane, Drakius (Stormbringer? I forgot...)
Guild RP Theme: Think Chaotic good style criminals. Sure we steal, occasionly kill folks for certain reasons, but we're not REALLY bad people. Right?
Guild Chat Style: /s and /y are IC, as is guild chat (gnomish speaker boxes. Crazy things!)
Raiding/Instancing Style: IC for the most part.
PvP Style: What ever floats your boat.
Other RP Thingies: We are, first and formost, an RP guild. Our members do all sorts of various things, but we're all RPers at heart. We do have the occasional story line going, but it isn't always being pushed, and we are fully welcoming of individual RP as well.
Special Requirements: Be a roleplayer. Though we do tend to set up IC interviews before letting folks in, to make sure you click with the rest of us.
Website Link: Not available. Because I'm much, much too lazy to actually get around to working on it.
About Guild: The Myst has been a sort of anti hero criminal group since almost the start of the server. The guild took a hiatus while members went separate ways, but recently began to reform. With the help of a few old timers, as well as new faces, we hope to bring the Myst back to the middle of things.
Impending Dusk Guild Name:
Impending Dusk
Guild Name: Impending Dusk
Faction: Horde
Created on: 9-15-2010
Guild Leader: 'Jahnus', though often referred to as 'Him' as well.
Persons of Note: Saraphiel the Devoted, Shedegazol Byron (Cult Assassin), Melanim (The Good Doctor)
Guild RP Theme: Twilight Hammer Cultist sect. Secretive, insurgency
Guild Chat Style: /s, /e, /y are all considered to be IC, Any OOC is usually denoted by parenthesis, or brackets. Guild chat itself is OOC for now.
Raiding/Instancing Style: Situational.
PvP Style: Based on individual taste.
Other RP Thingies: A fairly dark themed guild, not meant for anyone that doesn't mind playing the role of a villain and causing a bit of chaos. There is an underlying storyline surrounded by Shedegazol/Jahnus, however the guild's purpose in and of itself is meant to serve as a front within the Horde for the Cultists. To gather information and wreak havoc (though carefully as to not draw attention to the Cultists so easily) among the Horde.
Special Requirements: Mature Players are preferred, though there is no age requirement. Have an interest in Role-playing being the first and foremost as this is an RP guild. Make sure your character would fit well within the theme of the guild. The only other thing I might suggest is having a strong stomach for the line of villainy and disruption, as this guild will likely get very graphic as it moves along. (Thus the preference for mature players)
Website Link: (None as of yet, will be working on this soon)
About Guild: Impending Dusk is a Twilight Cultist sect set up by Shedegazol after he was sent away rather forcefully from his home in the Blackfathom Temple. He was given strict orders to remain near the Horde, operating as a spy of sorts and deigned to infiltrate them in order to keep an eye on the politics.
It is a guild meant to act like an insurgency. As more Cultists arrive, the more active it will become. Its movements are subtle and are not meant to be picked out easily from the rest of the Horde populous like some other sects might be.
And unlike other Cultists sects, this one happens to be lead strictly, and secretly by another by the name of Jahnus, even if it was Shedegazol who founded it. This leader rarely deals with anyone outside of Impending Dusk unless sizing up potential members, or hiring those with less than moral reputations to do his bidding for the entire sect.
As of right now, you might say the guild is in a state of hibernation as Jahnus waits for more Cultists to arrive. But when Cataclysm rolls around, it will hopefully be full blown reaping in the aftermath of chaos that ensues with Deathwing's return.
It is truly regrettable that a person will treat a man who is valuable to him well, and a man who is worthless to him poorly.
"Careful, I'm a Twilight Cultist, I have the ability to summon up tentacle monsters at will for interrogation purposes." - Shedegazol

Created on: . . .Summer 2009?
Guild Leader: Locavera
Persons of Note: Locavera, Kiedrin, Ahmandil
Guild RP Theme: Order of Knights, Lawful Good
Guild Chat Style: OOC.
Raiding/Instancing Style: Even more OOC than above.
PvP Style: Most OOC of all.
Other RP Thingies: Currently ICly defunct, due to lack of membership and a lazy Commandant.
Special Requirements: Must believe in the Holy Light.
Website Link: n/a
About Guild: The Order of the Impending Dawn was founded by Locavera Thornthalas, who had a number of disagreements with the more well known Blood Knights. He founded the order with help from a select group of like minded individuals, and later allied with the Argent Dawn (then later still with the Argent Crusade.) The Order soon ran into a few internal issues however, and has only recently recovered from it's losses. It is now passively accepting new members.

Guild Name: The Divine
Guild Name: The Divine Conspiracy
Faction: Alliance
Created on: Think 8-2010 (Dont remeber exactly)
Guild Leader: Shilin
Persons of Note: Slydel, Illaria, Kallee, Alleria
Guild RP Theme: To have fun rping on any topic. (Promote everyone to have a story for their char. as never know which one people will decide to pick up and run with.)
Guild Chat Style: Guild chat is OOC to keep it simple.
Raiding/Instancing Style: IC & OOC depending on the group and how many people are unkown rpers in raids. Guild instances are almost allways IC.
PvP Style: Is not heavly inforced as some charicters have IC reasons to not pvp and others have reasons to pvp. And we are too small to world pvp IC and rping in a BG will get you killed/farmed/kicked.
Other RP Thingies: Ask new members to have a story of some kind as every char. in the guild does. It does not need to be overly elabrite and can and should change over time as you rp. Please either let the GM or one of the GMs many toons know a little about your story as I can tell you what toons will do well in that type of story/rp. If you have any goals please share them as well. (I try not to take any OOC info IC, but I do admit I slip up at times.)
Special Requirements: To be player friendly and have a player friendly story. It is okay for a char to not like another char in game but should not be taken into OOC.
Website Link: No site at this time.
About Guild: We are a smaller friend based RP guild. Many of the people in the guild know eachother in RL and are long time RPers. We allways welcome new people in the guild and encourage them to invite friends that they trust. Alts are welcome in the guild and we do try to help eachother when we can. If you need things like rp gear from older raids (The T3 set for example) feel free to ask and a time can be set up to get others in the raid to help. It is sometimes a bit hard to solo everything in a raid w/o a healer to help out. In guild RPin is not required or restricted as RP should be able to happen no matter what Guild people are in. We do run many different stories at the same time and that style may not be best for everyone. If it doesn't work for you would recomend get into one (Or start your own.) and settle in. We believe WoW should be fun as well as RPing on WoW.

About Guild:(The Winterspring Requiem is a heavy RP guild that takes roleplaying to a new level. RPing will take place in guild chat, raiding, dungeons, and even player-versus-player content. RP events can be either planned or impromptu depending on the situation. We are very active and have helpful officers. We vow to bring some good roleplaying back to the Shadow Council as we continue to grow in numbers. We are aware of the increasing difficulty of recruiting and the... Guild Name: Nomad Faction:
Guild Name: Nomad
Faction: Alliance
Created on: March 22, 2011
Guild Leader: Ellaluna (in OOC fashion only; IC there is no leader)
Persons of Note: None.
Guild RP Theme: Independent wanderers and adventurers who would not fit in an organized guild structure.
Guild Chat Style: IC or OOC. If enough people are interested I'll set up an IC chat channel located in a gypsy-like camp.
Raiding/Instancing Style: Up to individuals.
PvP Style: Also up to individuals.
Special Requirements: None.
Website Link: None.
About Guild: My character Ellaluna is a free-spirited wanderer, and I initially created the guild so she could have a nifty <Nomad> tag under her name. However, I am happy to invite others to the guild. <Nomad>, if it grows into more than just Ellaluna, will be a loose coalition of travelers and vagabonds. Like gypsies, we help each other when needed, but otherwise go our separate ways. There is no leader, as we are all independent. Your character doesn't have to share beliefs or opinions with the other Nomads. All Nomads don't have to be friends. We support each other by leaving caches of supplies in secret areas (the guild bank). Occasionally there are gatherings of Nomads, called moots (guild events). Anyone may call a moot at any time, anywhere. All races, classes, personalities and beliefs are welcome. If your character is independent and doesn't like taking orders, or prefers to live life by their own rules, or dislikes being tied to an actual organization, or simply tends to be a loner, he or she can become a Nomad and retain that independence while still having at least some guild support system. Nomads are welcome to join and leave the guild as they break and make alliances with other guilds. It can be a sort of "neutral/unaligned/independent" default for those who would otherwise be guildless.
Guild Name: Aegis
Guild Name: Aegis Wolves
Faction: Horde
Created on: March, 2011
Guild Leader: Koltaraus (Alt: Wreckingbull, Tirkai)
Persons of Note: Roskaa (Nandini)
Guild RP Theme: Elite Horde Infantry, Mobile force responsible for Kalimdor.
Guild Chat Style: GChat stay largely OOC until major events kick off. As membership increases we'll table the issue of IC Channels.
Raiding/Instancing Style: Pseudo IC/OOC. Our /say and /yell will be In-character while our /party remains OOC for coordination.
PvP Style: We are Proud members of the Horde. We have several members who run frequent PvP events. IC and OOC.
Other RP Thingies: We're patrons of the regular weekly open world RP events. We have ambition to bring RP back to mainstream on ShC.
Special Requirements: A good attitude. We are a Social guild, not a support group. Do not expect sympathy if you're just trying to bring down the mood of the collective.
Website Link: http://www.aegiswolves.com
About Guild: I'll start by saying we hold no affiliation other than friendship to the members of <The Aegis>.
<Aegis Wolves> is a chapter of a multi-game community of guilds that started around 10 years ago in EverQuest. The leader of the Shadow Council chapter has served time in the original Aegis Wolves and takes pride in retaining the laws and traditions of the Pack, where applicable.
The Wolves boast a very friendly and social atmosphere within their halls. While we are primarily an RP guild we also have groups of players interested in PvP, and PvE raiding, we have a little bit of something for anyone.
That being said, we host RP events weekly or bi-weekly, depending on member interest, the events span a variety of genres to typical Tavern talk to full scale RPvP events. Most of our events are open to the public and we welcome any RPers of any skill level to take part and enjoy the developing story!
We are regular members of the Haven channel and can be found there most days. Feel free to hit myself or my noted members up to discuss guild specifics or request an invite. We look forward to seeing you at our events.
This guild is currently
This guild is currently shelved as we have merged our assets with <The Aegis>. I am considering reopening it as a Raiding arm of <The Aegis> but as of right now no moves have been made in that direction. We'll post any updates here.

Neristrana (Ranger-Lieutenant; Officer)
Guild RP Theme: Defenders of the people and lands of Quel'Thalas (includes Silvermoon, Eversong Woods, Ghostlands, Isle of Quel'Danas, etc)
Guild Chat Style:
We use it as an in-character radio-type program to allow for the members of ERC to easily contact each other. There is an out-of-character channel for all random conversations, and we promote the use the the /haven channel.
Raiding/Instancing Style:
Casual to almost non-existent. We would enjoy to do some random instances with some casual RP mixed in, or even an In-Character infiltration if it can be explained, but for the most part we don't plan these things.
PvP Style:
Again almost non-existent. We have members who like to PvP, but it isn't something we actively focus on. If any Alliance come within Quel'Thalas, ERC members are to see them as a threat and either attack them or report their activity.
Special Requirements:
1. Application process; may also include interviews.
2. Citizenship of Quel'Thalas ... does not have to be a Sin'dorei.
3. No demons; we are not against demon roleplaying stories, but they do not fit our guild theme.
3b. Ask questions if concerned/confused and accept feedback/comments/critique when it is given.

About Guild:
Eversong Ranger Corps is under the Ranger General of Quel'Thalas, currently being Halduron Brightwing, previously Sylvanas Windrunner. The guild was created in hopes to bring together the Ranger roleplayers out there and have them work together, then it grew to become a location for Fatstriders and citizens to aid their homeland.
The Eversong Ranger Corps is an organization that is dedicated to providing assistance to all our communities in Quel'Thalas. The ERC will provide members to assist their local communities in everything from helping in a disaster and emergency, to assisting local authorities in locating missing persons and provide prompt assistance to any local community. All members of Eversong Ranger Corps acts under Lawful guidance; the D&D definition of the 'Good' alignment best describes this guild.
Ranks are based on character storyline, not how much you are trusted or how long you have been in the guild. If you can explain in a detailed post on the forums why your level 10 character is actually an amazing hero of the Second War, an RP session will be scheduled some time in the next week to see how capable you are of playing such a role. On top of character creation abilities, further questions/tests may be put in effect if you are trying to become an officer, including a basic ooc conversation on the dedication toward the guild.

About Guild:
Shortly after the Cataclysm struck, the Alliance ordered the formation of relief regiments to help with front line relief. Their duties included the care and escort of wounded off of the battlefield and replacements for those taken away. The Fifth relief regiment was formed shortly after the order was released. Under the command of Commander Valrus Grimspeak, the regiment grew and shortly after Balthimos was recruited. Fighting on many different fronts the regiment grew closer and deadlier. An order from another regiment was issued some time ago for an unofficial attack on Orgrimmar. Though the attack was well organized, many were lost in the battle.
Commander Valrus was killed on the field as were many of the fifth regiment’s officers. Furious to hear about the surprise attack on the Horde city, many of the Field Marshals began to disband the regiments that participated in the attack, including the fifth relief regiment. Balthimos was assigned to a new regiment where he acted as chief medical officer. Balthimos worked his way up the ranks and eventually made Lieutenant Commander. After being shipped to reinforce the Night Elves at Gilneas, Balthamos fell to the curse of the Worgen.
Upon their trip back, their ships were ambushed by Horde vessels. Sacrificing himself to save the others, Balthimos grabbed control of one of the ships and rammed it into the flagship leading the ambush. It slowed the Horde forces down long enough for the others to make it back safe. Balthimos was captured and sent to Orgrimmar as a prisoner.
Balthimos along with other prisoners were being shipped to the Undercity. Luckily the Horde were set slightly off track by unexpected winds and were led straight into a fleet patrol. Balthimos was then rescued along with others and sent straight back to Stormwind. Upon his arrival Balthimos received the promotion to Commander and given the chance to reform his old relief regiment under his own command. Balthimos accepts and now the regiment struggles to grow larger.
