Compendium - A List of RP Guilds on Shadow Council

Reposted as forum topic as per request, Arti.

After reading Hakkajin's thread, I realized that on both Horde and Alliance side there seems to be a lack of knowledge regarding RP guilds that currently exist. In order for RP to flourish and take off again on Shadow Council, we NEED to support each other. It doesn't matter if you are RP all the time, some of the time, in guild chat or toon-to-toon. Knowing what each guild is about means that when you snag that RPer who is NOT quite the right fit for YOUR guild, you can get them to a guild where the fit will be better. If you're looking for a guild, this thread will help you decide which guild suits what you're looking for. This will also be an awesome resource for those who want to plan events with each other, or try to foster guild-to-guild relations, or try to take over the world ^_^.

Someone requested that we have a way to ask questions. If you want to ask questions, please do so here - just be certain to reply to the specific guild you have the question for, and don't turn it into a huge discussion or debate. Just ask your question, get your answer and move on. I've provided an 'example' as a reply to my listing for Pox if anyone doesn't know what I mean.

Format is below the cut, and thanks to those who support the idea.

About Guild:
Pox began as a military guild intent on destroying the Alliance. Their devotion to the cause was fanatical, leading them against those of better skill and larger numbers regardless of the outcome. They would kill their enemies, or die trying! As time progressed, Pox expanded to be much more than a mindless, fanatical body opposing the Alliance. Factions formed within the guild, and those factions vie for the favour of their leader, their Bringer, Shryn'Dael Keledan. Those in her favour get away with more than those without and garner larger reward.

Regarded by most of the Silvermoon community as a guild that barely remains on the legal side of military, there are often those who whisper the names of those in Pox and the word terrorist in the same sentence. They are well known for their cruelty and barbaric nature in regards to their enemy, and their noble leader - perhaps the most civilized of them all - is notably impatient with the trappings of noble society.

Pox dabbles quite openly in the pseudo legal, such as privateering, slavery, and torture.

At two years old and with over 100 members through more than 70 player accounts, Pox is the largest Horde role-playing guild. We pride ourselves on the firm control we have on OOC drama, keeping the drama in character only. We have a high activity level on all members, with over 90% logging in weekly, and most of that daily. We are helpful, nice people OOC, and offer our assistance in levelling and gearing while teaching players how to play their class and stand on their own feet.

---

RP in guild chat is welcome and encouraged, though we do not require all members use guild chat in this way. If no one is RPing, people are welcome to use the channel for OOC. IF RP is ongoing, we use a specially set up channel for OOC chat, so as to not interrupt RP. RP in guild chat happens in the guild Estates; if RP happens in guild chat it is something that anyone can join in on, as it is a public place and channel.

We ask members to be over 18, as on occasion things are said in guild chat that are not appropriate for minors. Exceptions have been and probably will be made again, especially since the guild leader tends to ask applicants ages. -_-

RP in raid and instances depends on guild make up and preference.

During PvP Raids on towns, raid chat and ventrilo are used to coordinate. Anything said, yelled, or emoted is IC, however. World PvP happens for IC reasons.

Members are expected to have a biography posted on the biography portion of the website, and there is a part of the website where post-by-post RP occurs, should you wish to take part in that aspect of RP. Biographies are read and commented on by the guild officers for lore veracity. (No gnome lovechilds of Illidan and Jaina, raised by taurens to be a blood elf paladin until they morphed into a troll warlock, k?)

Example

This is an example question.

Q: I've heard that Pox hates the Nightsabres and Aktarin. Why? Is it IC or OOC? Both?

Example

This is an example answer.

A: Pox does hate the Nightsabres and Aktarin, though it is a wholly IC hatred built through months of role-play. Aktarin killed Shryn's babies, Shryn tortured Aktarin's beloved. There's a lot of IC emotion that ranges from an odd sort of fondness (we love our enemies) to bitter hatred and pain and loathing.

Though there are sometimes heated emotions and disagreements between Aktarin and Shryndael, both recognize each other as good people out of character and have nothing but respect for each other. When Shryn's grandfather died, a newspaper printed a wonderful article about his illustrious baseball career. They could not get a paper copy of it, however, but Aktarin's inlaws still had the paper, and she got it mailed to her, clipped it for Shryn, and mailed it to her. If you need any more evidence of an awesome person, it won't be found unless she adopts all of Africa (and Angelina's babies).

If you want to read about the adventures/conflict between the Nightsabres and Pox, please do a quick search for 'Pox-Nightsabres Conflict' to read the blogs in the series of events.

Aktarin's picture

((*snuggles the Shryn-player OOCly.. ICly attacks and tries to kill!

Also.. can I destroy the babies? No more Hollywood dynasties and overly fertile starlets!))

Aktarin's picture

Guild Name: Order of the

Guild Name: Order of the Nightsabre

Faction: Alliance

Created on: Feb 27/2005 (Oldest active guild on Shadow Council whooo!)

Guild Leader: Warden Aktarin Shadowsong

Persons of Note: Warden Aktarin Shadowsong, Cenarion Mistress Amoona Everclaw, Blademaster Aradhel Shar'Alah, Daughter of Elune Aurorana, Cenarion Master Aquanus Galesong, Watcher Captain Drakenn, Watcher Captain Tarokk Isera'Duna, Nightsabre Commander Navires, Daughter of the Dark Moon Soto,  Sentinel Captain Zaikyu Windrage, Theryl, Belmilia, Celise, Elzabetha, Phiandria, Permelia, and so many it hurts my brain to recall them all <.<

Guild RP Theme: A militant organization of largely Kal'dorei zealots, the Nightsabres were founded by the Kal'dorei as a union of the Sentinel Army, the remnants of the Watchers, and the Cenarion Circle. The Order only accepted its first humans in the fall of 2005, and warlocks and mages only were permitted entry in late summer 2008 due to the long history of wariness Kal'dorei have felt toward such addicted and potentially corrupt people. The purpose of the Order is threefold, as befits a group formed initially of three disparate factions within Kal'dorei culture. The Sentinel elements of the Sabres seek to defend the lands of their people and their allies from aggression by the Horde and by roving bandits and evil people. The Watchers seek to identify threats and eliminate them before they set foot in defended lands - even if it means striking into the tallest spire of Blackrock mountain, or the most closely guarded Horde citadel. The Cenarion Circle seeks balance in all things, and both to heal the Order and the peoples it defends, and also to guard their dedicated souls and minds from insanity and the corruption of modernity.

The newly established rank of Commissioned/Auxiliary holds those the Nightsabre Commander Navires commanded the Warden to permit into the guild as tools to further the need to balance and rebalance the worlds of Azeroth and the Outlands. There the warlocks, death knights and mages reside, not entirely welcomed by the others, but tolerated so long as they prove useful. Navires' druidic connections as a Cenarion Mistress also demonstrated to her the importance of mastering the tools of the Nightsabres' enemies to better defeat them. Her pragmatic wisdom led to success after success, and the Auxiliaries are here to stay.

Guild Chat Style: Guildchat is set in a fictional fortress in Dragonlight, in the Lothalor Woodlands. Originally, guildchat took place in an ancient Sentinel fortress, once home to the Nightblade Sentinels who died to Grom Hellscream's invasion of Ashenvale with their sister armies. That hall was mystically sealed, and the new fortress permits those with shadow magics to enter freely as the first did not. Guildchat is fully in character within the setting - ooc is provided in a text channel. We ask that guildchat be appropriate for the audience it's written for and the setting it takes place in - would you get naked in the middle of a military barracks with people blinking at you and do the nasty? Would those watching be expected NOT to wing hot tea, snowballs, etc at you if you did? Party and whispers are preferred for mature situations - no one likes snow up their shirt! The new and old halls both bear enchantments preventing greater demonic entry - this was originally to prevent godmodded RP styles involving giant uber demons from the center of the earth coming to chew people or perpetually curse and torment the more masochistic RPers we've seen over the years. Guildchat tends to be relaxed and calm, as one might imagine a barracks of weary fighters between combat to be, though tensions certainly exist between the four factions of Sabres, and fun RP can always happen as a result.

Raiding/Instancing Style: No raids without IC reason for them - notoriously, the Sabres never assaulted Azuregos, as the great blue dragon was a neutral defender and protector of the magics hidden in Azshara, and it would have run contrary to the guild's theme for us to ever attack one of our powerful allies. When the raid is preparing for a pull, or coming back after a wipe, there is constant /say and /yell RP. Characters interact IC in raids, though raidchat and ventrilo are OOC.

PvP Style: PvP is a constant for a large number of Nightsabres, and in world context, always IC. In BG's, IC rules can slip, but premades are generally speaking fully IC, though voicechats aren't. Characters don't PvP without IC reasons, as a rule.

Other RP Thingies: Sabres hold periodic guild meetings when necessary - rank is attained through loyalty for the first rank, then through RP swearing of an oath to Elune before the Warden Aktarin, whom the would-be Sentinel or Watcher also swears to obey implicitly. Druids automatically join the Cenarion ranks, and attend druidic meetings and RP events organized by the three Cenarion Master ranked Nightsabre Commanders. Guild ranks are a bit odd due to the three-part (now four with the Commissioned/Auxiliary rank addition for warlocks, DKs and mages) nature of the guild, and the linear promotion system Blizzard forces.

Special Requirements: potential guildmembers must write a RP essay at www.ootn-guild.com to apply, or RP extensively with officers or the guild leader in order to be considered. This element of the application process tends to weed out the immature or those merely interested in endgame raiding and phat lewts. The essay and RP has to somehow explain why anyone would willingly join a fanatic group of zealots, swearing fealty to Elune and the Kal'dorei faith, and obeying a driven, dutiful Warden who will punish disobedience as any military organization could be imagined to. (people have been killed in guildchat before <.<) Without some explanation for a character's desire to enter the Order, the chances of a successful application are small.

Website Link: www.ootn-guild.com

About Guild: As mentioned above, Sabres is the oldest active guild on Shadow Council, and the reason for this has tended to be due to the relaxed attitude of guildmates, the dedication to one another within the guild, the RP ties, and the shared desire to pursue RP-driven goals with longtime friends. The guild began as a fully RP guild, and was one of the first to initiate and emphasize the possibility of raiding while remaining in a smaller RP guild. The Nightsabres spearheaded one of ShC's two organizations dedicated to bringing endgame content to RP guilds withou losing the RP, and the Sabres learned a LOT during that 11 month process. Many luminaries of the server have wandered through the Sabres' ranks over the years, and at this stage, the guild has found a stable balance between raiding content (and RPing during), RP story arcs, and the enjoyment of PvP many members have. What was once a complete improbability in WoW has become the everyday fact of life inguild, as members can enjoy every aspect of the game while following their storylines. The guild isn't entirely for the hardcore player at anything, balanced between so many things, and the guild has an inertia driven by the simple pleasure so many have found in things being as they are and remaining thus. In BC, Sabres progressed into BT and Hyjal, happily roleplaying as they went, and in WoTLK, Sabres are pushing ino heroics, staring in horrified awe as they cough through Naxxramas or gape at a slain black dragon.

Nightsabres has a history on ShC that many of us are very proud of - when there's world PvP, we almost inevitably have a showing out to join in. Our RP and good humour has been commented on by many, and strong ties bind the Sabres to many of ShC's larger raiding guilds and heavy RP guilds by virtue of the members we've contributed to both sides of the fence, and those who've come to join our ranks from each in turn.

Artisania's picture

Guild Name: University of

Guild Name: University of Kalimdor

Faction:  Horde

Created on: Oh, a long long time ago; was disbanded, then remade in August or so of 2007

Guild Leader: Artisania (Acting Dean and Librarian)

Persons of Note: Teledriath (Assistant to the Dean, Assistant Librarian, Head Researcher), Heidel (Professor of Magic Studies), and Tawne (Accounting and Groundskeeping - my bank alt).  There are others, such as Teng and Ruahine, who have connections to the UofK but aren't officially in the guild.

Guild RP Theme: Education FOR THE HORDE!!  The University of Kalimdor hosts various educational events and remains an educational institution for the whole of the Horde, based in the offices and library in Thunder Bluff.  We may soon have an office in Dalaran; it's something I'm considering at least.

Guild Chat Style: Since there are only three of us, we are OOC in Guild Chat and do all our RP in /say or letters/blogs.

Raiding/Instancing Style: Raiding and/or instancing is not really a part of UofK, though members can and do if they so choose.  The current three members happen to be well-versed in PvE and enjoy researching and "collecting information" in various dangerous places.

PvP Style: Again, not really a part of the guild theme.  Members can and do PvP if they so desire.  Although, as acting Dean, Artisania rather frowns on behavior that separates the staff from potential fellow eductors in the Alliance.

Other RP Thingies:  The main reason the University of Kalimdor guild exists is as a banner showing the existence of the UofK.  We hope that through our presence in the guild, and the existence of the guild itself, Horde (and Alliance!) RPers will feel free to contact us with any plots or storylines that might use or relate with the University or its extensive (and mysterious) library.  As Artisania is the acting Dean, I am always willing to exchange letters and even meet for RP if the situation calls for it, or work out further details OOC.  Teledriath is Assistant to the Dean and head researcher, though her duty to Silvermoon often takes her away from University work.  Heidel is Professor of Magic Studies, I believe, and Teng (somehow!) remains on staff as Professor of Nether Studies. Aside from maintaining a "presence" of the UofK, we also put on events now and then, field trips and lectures, and are open to backing or hosting events from others.  More on that below.

Special Requirements: Because of the pure-RP nature of the University of Kalimdor, all interested in joining the staff must go through the proper IC channels in order to join the guild, just as one would have to to become a member of the staff of a real university.  Interested parties must form a relationship of some trust with the Acting Dean (who is rather careful about who she adds to the staff, as most staff members end up dead or missing, quite a detraction from the reputation of the UofK!) and then prove their worth by hosting at least one educational event.  People are also free to do just that and become "associated" with the UofK, even as a professor, without having to leave their current guilds.  I welcome anyone interested in being part of the UofK in any capacity to feel free to contact me, as there are many options regarding how one can be involved.  The biggest caveat I can give, however, is that the UofK is not something to join just to be part of something: you must consistantly roleplay your attachment to the UofK and regard for it's standards and practices, just as if you were connected to a real University, or else you will be released from the staff.   We have a very strict "No Drama" policy; all of us play and RP for fun, and the minute it becomes not fun, well, we don't tolerate not fun well.

Website Link: Zomg we has no website!

About Guild:  The University of Kalimdor was birthed long ago from a forum thread on the Official ShC Realm Forum, involving many great RPers.  For quite a while it was famously presided over by Dean Saffiy, the once and always future dean.  When Saffiy left the game, the guild was disbanded and its staff rather flung to the four corners.  I had always thought the UofK was a remarkable idea and run beautifully, and when Artie was getting up in level and I knew I'd be playing her, I spoke to Saffiy and was given permission (at least I regard it as such!) to recreate the guild.  When Teledriath became involved with Artisania and her RP, she joined, and later Heidel joined as well.  I have been more than pleased to get to know Professor Teng through the guild, as well as others from the original UofK staff.  Although I'm not Hordeside as much as I once was, the University of Kalimdor is alive and well, and I am always open to new lecturers and field-trip organizers, as well as those who would like to use the library or similarly involve themselves in the U.  It is there for your RP, and I hope to always keep it as such as long as I am able.

About Guild: The Scourgebane Resolute was formed by Animos and Xhaztol who believe that the Scourge is the largest threat to Azeroth. The guild is made up of people fighting the scourge for a variety of reasons ranging from hatred for the scourge to love of spoils of war. The guild is not hostile to the Alliance since we would rather be fighting the scourge, however we do not turn the other cheek when attacked.

We use guild chat and raid chat for general chatter and coordination. We use ventrillo for raids and instances. Our IC channels are /say /emote /yell. If people would like to get involved with Scourgebane but already have a great guild they are part of you may join us in our channel "Northward".

About Guild: Edge of Winter is not a "RP" guild by standards, but is mostly a raid/instancing guild full of people who love to RP.  We occasionally have guild events, parties, and the like.  Not for hardcore RPers, very casual environment.  Age 18+ preferred.

Herriman's picture

 Guild Name: Blackwater

Guild Name: Blackwater Buccaneers/Blackwater Horde Branch

Faction: Cross-faction

Created on:
2005 or 2006.

Guild Leader:
Herriman, Tsilas

Persons of Note:
Herriman Nathaniel Flynt VII, Tsilas Blackwater, Aedran Starfire, William Frostwood, Katherine Swiftwisper Flynt, Blind Tom, Kethaera

Guild RP Theme:
A family led company of pirates, currently serving under Herriman Nathaniel Flynt VII. The actual pirateness of the organization is kept secret, with the Cropes Trading Co. serving as their front. Tsilas is known in public as Captain Luis, and Herriman as John Cropes.

Guild Chat Style
: OOC, typically, but we do use gchat for RP in cases that we can't do said RP ingame. Ship battles, as an example.

Raiding/Instancing Style:
Most of our PvE is OOC. Most WoW content doesn't fit the guild theme, really. There have been, and will be exceptions, however.

PvP Style:
While some of our members PvP quite often, it is not a part of the guild theme in most cases.

Other RP Thingies:
The pirates have built a town on an island off of the coast of Northrend, called Flyntlocke Harbor. The town has extensive docks, as it is used primarily for trade, but also is home to residential areas, many warehouses, taverns, inns, and Tsilas' and Herriman's personal homes. IC, almost any profession of character is perfectly fitted to the guild. However, IC plate-wearers may have a harder time getting in. (I say IC, because both Herriman and Tsilas are plate-classes.)

Special Requirements:
A love o' th'sea and a lust fer magnificent booty! Or, y'know, any kind of RP reason to want to be a merchant, or mercenary, or what have you!

Has none. :<

About Guild:
Blackwater Buccaneers/Horde Branch is a pure RP guild. We don't schedule raids, we don't regularly world or bg PvP. We have held RP events in the past (Booty Bay gamling night, for example, which was a blast) and would like to host more in the future. Guild is very casual, and a lot of it's members (myself included) log on with the hope to RP, before anything else.

OOC and unofficial sister guild to The Kingdom of Quel Thalas.

Guild Name:  Spirit of

Guild Name:  Spirit of Renewal

Faction:  Alliance

Created on:  9/10/08

Guild Leader:  Kyiera Wolfsung

Persons of Note:  Aydin and Adrazel Hollowynd (officers)

Guild RP Theme:  Spirit of Renewal was created to take the spirit that helped us all through the recent war and turn it toward something more positive - rebuilding ourselves and our world - as well as continuing to protect ourselves and our allies against those that seek to harm us.

Guild Chat Style:  Guild chat is IC with an optional OOC channel.  I think of guild chat as a kind of real time magical form of communicating with other members even when we are not in close proximity to each other - telepathic communication, I suppose.

Raiding/Instancing Style:  IC except when dire need calls for OOC communication (ie we're going to die and can't type fast enough IC).  We don't raid yet, but plan to eventually as we grow.  There should be some IC reason for instancing/raiding.

PvP Style:  Right now we don't generally PvP as a guild.  However, we are in the process of establishing an RP alliance with a horde guild that will probably involve some PvP.  In this case, it would all be IC.  BGs would generally be OOC.

Other RP Thingies:  We run the Spirit Tavern in the park in Stormwind.  As mentioned about, we also hope to establish an alliance with a horde guild - this will probably involve a fair amount of rp on forums with scheduled events in game to carry on the storyline.  Try to host one big open-to-the-public event, every month or two.  We are new and still growing, so some of this is a bit sporadic now, but we are definately moving forward and getting more organized.

Special Requirements:  Members are expected to treat others (not just guild members) with respect.  We look for members that are interested in being involved in the guild - this means participating in events, helping out guild members, speaking in guild chat and visiting the website.  We understand that we all need alone time sometimes, but we're looking for folks that generally like to be social and active in the guild.  Members are required to register on the website.

Website Link:  http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=273811&TabID=2298373

About Guild:  I consider ourselves a heavy RP guild.  All activities are IC.  We do quite a bit of socializing and PvE.  In the future, we plan to add some raiding, and PvP if there is interest.  The best thing to do if you are interested is visit our website and review the charter and rules.  You can also contact myself (Kyiera), Aydin, or Adrazel or stop by the Spirit Tavern (Mondays and Fridays 5:30 - 7:30 server time).

Posting for The Silver Dragoons

I'd heard Anyalena was going to fill one of these out, but I haven't heard from her and keep getting asked by folks, so here's a placeholder for now:

Guild Name: The Silver Dragoons

Faction: Alliance

Created on: May 2005

Guild Leader: Bennet "Hellfire" Harrigan

Persons of Note: Commander Harrigan, Major Anyalena Argensprocket.

Guild RP Theme: Elite Stormwind military unit, personal protectors of the Prince.

Guild Chat Style: IC communications via guildstone. Alternate channel exists for OOC chatter.

Raiding/Instancing Style: Some IC "training missions". Also depends on if we're with others and what they do. We're small, so we mostly go along with other allied guilds, such as The Meddlers.

PvP Style: Individual, though attacks on SW and surrounding Shires is often reacted to ICly.

Other RP Thingies: We have cool uniforms (least others seem to think so!). We also have an IC RP channel for players who wish to RP being in SW while OOCly elsewhere, or while on an alt. Our HQ is within the Keep, just off the gardens.

Current Active Alliances: Rangers of the Blue Rose, The Meddlers, The Penumbra Infantry (ICly it's kind of reluctant and imposed by duty).

Special Requirements: Don't be a Death Knight. Be loyal to Stormwind and the Prince. Be willing to follow orders, and help fellow Dragoons. Apply ICly on the guild website, filling in the application form provided on our forums, and have an IC interview with the Commander or another officer. Meetings are every Wednesday evening at 7 server time in the Petitioner's Chamber in Stormwind's Keep, and are open.

Website Link: The Silver Dragoons on Guild Portal

About Guild: Right now, there's a hardline stance against Death Knights that isn't likely to be lifted any time soon. Many members are leery of them, and the Commander refuses to change his position, hence our recent charter change to the Prince's personal guards. We usually direct interested DK's to The Ebon Hand, or other allied units.

Also, not to be confused with "Silver Dragoons", a raid guild with a very similar name.

Raiding/Instancing Style: Many of our members enjoy raiding and instancing, but neither are organized as official guild events.

Other RP Thingies:
*Heavy RP; roleplaying is our sole focus as a guild.

TKoQ is a heavy roleplaying guild, created with the release of The Burning Crusade by our visionary founder, Marcao. We are comprised of Silvermoon's citizens, soldiers, nobility, and government. Essentially, we're an out-of-character collection of in-character players. What this means is that rather than having our guild function as an organization in which all the members share a common goal (for example, a mercenary company, coven of sorcerers, or the Scarlet Crusade), TKoQ encompasses the entirety of Quel'thalas. It is our aim to create a living, breathing kingdom and an immersive representation of Blood elven society.

Our emphasis is on quality, mature roleplaying that observes Warcraft lore and meets stringent grammar and spelling requirements. If you are interested in joining, please apply at our website, listed above, or contact Elexandre in-game or through RP Haven. Commonwealth

Commonwealth Banner Image

Guild Name: Commonwealth

Faction: Alliance

Created on: April 22nd, Year 33 (2009).

Guild Leader: Lisa Graviton is the Prime Tinker, though management decisions will be made jointly with a body of Functionaries (guild officers).

Persons of Note: Nenalie Arclight and Evra Valence are also founding members.

Guild RP Theme: An adventurer's guild for more down-to-earth heroes of modest ability.  See our charter and FAQ for more information!

Guild Chat Style: Fully in-character.  New guild members are provided a gnomish buzzbox (walkie-talkie) that can be used to communicate across large distances.  This is in addition to face to face RP, not replacing it, for you silly folks who dislike IC guild chat.  Characters can't always be together in-game, and this provides potential for RP in those situations where there would otherwise be none.

Raiding/Instancing Style: Apart from perhaps the odd instance run here and there, we won't be scheduling events that specifically involve instancing or raiding.   The guild has a full-time RP focus, and as a general rule, we want our events to be open to players of all levels, not just those whom the game permits to step through a swirly portal.  That said, on the rare chance it happens, any instance runs would be fully in-character.

PvP Style: Same note as for raiding/instancing above.

Other RP Thingies: The guild is still very new, but once we've taken in a good number of members, we plan to start holding weekly guild meetings.  These will be open to the public, and we'll announce the day and time as soon as we figure out a schedule that works for the majority of the membership.

Special Requirements:

  • Your character must not be exceptional or among the greatest of his/her field in any way.  This doesn't just mean combat prowess, but also applies to wealth, social status, knowledge, crafting skill, et cetera.
  • Warlocks can apply, but will have to brave a more stringent interview process, and abide by certain restrictions.  See here for more information.
  • Death knights are not allowed, no exceptions.  The link above explains why.

About Guild:

Commonwealth aims to bring a sense of scale, danger and wonder back to Azeroth.  We want the guild to be stress-free and welcoming to those with more limited gameplay schedules.  For those who can't or don't want to become heavily involved in higher-end content, we aim to provide an environment where your character can feel more at home, and not feel overwhelmed in the presence of uber-skilled champions of Northrend.  We want your character 's strengths to be meaningful and make you an essential member of the team, not rendered superfluous by powerful characters who can drop an assortment of Deus Ex Machinas to solve every problem.

The guild was founded by three gnomes, and has a certain gnomish flavor to it (consider our rank titles, and the presence of a tinker in a leadership position), but the guild is certainly not for gnomes only!  We are an Alliance adventurer's guild, and any race is welcome to apply.

Our heraldic crest is a turtle, intended to be a metaphor for strong defense and slow but certain progress ... and because the cool dragons, eagles and wolves were already spoken for.  Representative colors of the guild are white, forest green and black.

If you have further questions that aren't answered by the website, feel free to contact me (Lisa) in-game, email me at rabbly@rabbly.net, or send me a PM via RP-Haven.

About Guild: A secret covenant of the Horde, dedicated and bound by mutual cause to the exploration of our known worlds and beyond the reaches of known time and space, knowledge of our collective past, and gathering wisdom for what may lie ahead. Encircled were the select few that held up these ideals in the true beginning, when the rest of the worlds were zooming forward at breakneck speeds to overpower and swell like great super giants in the celestials. These few were destined to stand firm on their calling and because of their dedication, other like-minded allies gravitated towards them over the years to help support and provide stability in the cause, to seek out knowledge, to gain wisdom, and benefit our fellows as best we can without encroachment. Led by the grim son of the fallen Arch-Magister, Dredge Sunshadow is the figurehead of the operation. Followed by operatives in various fields of work and talent including the Darksun Knighthood, the Shadowed Hand, the Celestial Keepers, and the Watchers to be the skeleton of the Circle. The rest of the able bodied keep up the pulse and together, as the collective, the Circle finds itself in a time of rebuilding, growth, and opportunity.

Our guild sets itself apart from most other guilds because we give true meaning to the phrase "a family style guild." The members of the Circle have been playing together for several years, through thick and thin. In turn we have developed into tight knit group of close friends willing to do anything for each other. The members of the Circle are what makes this guild stand alone.

Puppetry's picture

Guild Name: The Silent

Guild Name: The Silent Blade

Faction: Alliance

Created on: The guild itself has been around for a while, but as it's changed hands in leadership, it has been a roleplay guild since 10/20/09

Guild Leader: Reandel (GM), Puppetry (GM lite)

Persons of Note: Reandel

Guild RP Theme: Full time shipping company, part time smuggling operations. We go there.

Guild Chat Style: In-character, the setting of which is located on board The Silent Blade, the flagship of our fleet. Officer chat is available to all ranks and is OoC. Guild chat roleplay is not required.

Raiding/Instancing Style: As a heavy roleplaying guild, we don't officially run instances or raids, but we do have a few 80s that may or may not be interested. It is, again, not our main focus, nor will it be.

PvP Style: Same as above. If the need arises, we'll happily lodge a few arrows/daggers into the enemy, however.

Other RP Thingies: While we are oriented around roleplay as the guild's main focus, we're also ridiculously chatty OoC and we enjoy the community of our guildmates just as much as the actual roleplay. This is a laidback guild with no attendance requirements, no time constraints or demands, and we're all about having fun doing what we stayed on Shadow Council to do. Drama llamas need not apply.

Special Requirements: A brain, maybe. Maybe.

Website Link: http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=316646&TabID=2654733
About Guild: Felsworn was created by Avriella Scarlet and Grimtor. It was originally intended as a safe haven for those under Grim'tor's influence; however, it quickly grew to incorporate all of those who wouldn't be accepted in the more...savory...of the guilds. Felsworn has a reputation for creating chaos and having loose morals. It is said that at one of their meetings they even captured a paladin and gave him away as a prize to whomever could find him.

The guild leader is a half-demon, half-troll who is the son of Grimtor and Floura Drakkari. He views Avriella as his mother and respects her opinion to the utmost.

The second in command, Avriella, is a Death Knight-turned-demon who views the whole of Felsworn as hers to protect. She watches over them and acts as the enforcer and protector of the group.
