Glimpses of Azeroth: One Hunter's Search for Rare Creatures
A friend of mine known by some as Dragonshade has undertaken an interesting project in his spare time. A RPer by nature, biologist by education, and educator by trade, the wildlife of WoW holds a special interest. For the last few months he's been hunting the game's Rare Mobs. His hunter doesn't use any of the search addons for this, nor does he kill the mob. His objective is to find and catalogue in a way not really done elsewhere.
Dragonshade, due to geography, plays on EU-Steamwheedle Cartel, but like the Illustrated Travelogue by Destron of Feathermoon a couple years back, I thought it worth the shout out here for the RP possibilities, as well as nifty information on creatures rarely seen in game by some. There are only a few posts up on the new blog so far, but I've already learned of things I wasn't aware of after 5 years. And with the original game setting changing wildly in Cataclysm, some of these mobs may be altered or even vanish.
So whether you have leveling toons who want a chance at rarespawn loot tables, a hunter searching for a neat pet, or just interested in some of the more obscure parts of Azeroth, the blog is worth a look, I think. Follow the first link in this post to make your way to "Glimpses of Azeroth" at blogspot.com if you do find it of interest!

Dragonshade has suddenly been featured on The Hunter's Mark website, a resource for, obviously, Hunters. Word's getting around already, and more new and interesting posts are up, including a semi-IC entry now focusing on a ghost of Darkshore, a Worgen rare and his lesser known spawn points, and some gorgeous shots of Azzere the Skyblade, whose fate in the upcoming Barrens split in Cataclysm is threatened.
