Order Up!

 I will start and say that Iloam's usual is a small english breakfast black tea, extra hot and extra strong, with a double shot of Irish Whiskey (such as Jameson's). No cream or sugar.

Faraji enjoys green tea with a ridiculous amount of honey in an earthenware mug, as hot as possible short of boiling. I'll go out on a limb and say 1/3 of the cup is pure honey. He can't stand anything short of absurdly sweet.

Artie most commonly prefers a tea much like Darjeeling, brewed to just golden, sometimes with milk and sugar, sometimes without.  Never hot - always just past the warm side. 

When she really has to concentrate, she drinks a tea like a Ceylon black, very strong, with sugar and/or honey, no milk, much hotter than the Darjeeling.

On sunny afternoons or with a picnic or something, a green tea is always good, once again just past the warm side, not really hot, no sweeteners needed.

She does like coffee, but really prefers tea.

Drakis is definitly a coffee, black, person. Good for his brain who has needs of uber stimulation.

For Mairead I think she'd go for either a nice green tea to get her going in the morning, or some sort of fruity tisane made with things like rosehips, orange peel, hibiscus and strawberries.

Brandy from the McCaimbridge Vineyards, of course.  Very expensive.  She carries her own because it's not stocked locally.

When not sipping brandy (warmed, of course), hot tea in the morning and/or evening.  And cool water with a hint of lemon almost all the time.

She has no problem bringing her own brandy into a pub, so she'll order an ale or something else as a courtesy.   *grin*

Rethelia is the unfortunate sort of person who only eats and drinks to keep her body going.  Her pallet is too neglected to enjoy the subtleties of complicated orders or the simplicity of basic, strong flavors- she is more likely to order something based on how she will fit into a scene than on any kind of personal preference.

An Irish Coffee, with extra sugar, double whiskey and half the cream. This order is pretty common with Fae, though she is a fickle creature in all things, and it's always subject to change depending on how hungover  or cranky she is.

If we're talking drinks in general, I have to thank Blizzard's team of creative geniuses for adding Crimson Stripe to the game via their Brewfest event. Umbuya would drink Stripe in quantity. Hooray, Beer!

For coffee/tea, Umbuya is definitely a coffee guy. I can see the Sandfury having an approach to coffee not unlike Ethiopian and Turkish traditions, with dark, dark, dark coffee brewed in clay decanters. The grounds settle in the brewed cup, with the sludgy mix left behind. Mmm. Sugar? Sure, but just a touch for this Troll.

Cerwis' usual would be a venti caramel apple cider

Nediva's would be a tall white mocha with a shot of raspberry and extra whip.

Raksasha's would be a cup of ginger tea with a lemon slice

Edeline's, if she wished, would be simple, grande black coffee. Dead secretaries don't need much.

Ysra's usual would be water.

Reginald would order a tall hazelnut latte with whip and caramel.

Mmm, oh I like this topic. Let's see, there's pink champagne with fresh raspberries. Oh! Or pomegranate suntea with mint leaves. There's also steamed milk with peppermint; -so- good in the winter months. And chili powdered cocoa! There's a troll recipe that makes it with a real kick! It's -fabulous-.

Turkish Coffee!

Morning: medium-roast coffee with milk and honey.

Midday: Fruit juice, any kind of berry is best.

Evening: Ale, wine, or liquor, depending on how hard the day has been.

Morning: Whiskey.  Straight.  No ice.

Afternoon: Whiskey.  Straight.  No ice.

Evening: Whiskey.  Straight.  No ice.

Fermented Spiced Jala:

Ingredients:

One half pound roasted jala bean

One gallon spring water

Two cups briarthorn honey

One half cup Firebloom extract, aka Tinnamin.

Two Tbsp Baker's Yeast

Tools:

One cooking cauldron, clay preferred, iron as an alternate.

One Clay Jug for fermenting with a tight fitting cork

Sealing Wax

One Sungrass sieve

One reed, approximately half a pinky in width.

Mortar and Pestle

Measuring utensils

Directions:

Grind jala bean with mortar and pestle to a fine powder. Fill sieve with grind. Boil water in cooking cauldron and pour into grind. Collect expressed Jala in jug. Mix in honey and tinnamin extract and allow to cool, 24 hours. Next add yeast, cork and seal. Pierce seal with reed. Allow to ferment for approximately two weeks. More for stronger, but will become more bitter as well. Extract mixture and drain through sieve to clear solids. Bottle and seal again.

Notes:

Stranglethorn Jala is generally consider the best bean. It's harvested in the summer at the hottest time of the year and can be found wild anywhere in the Vale that water collects. Jala has been transplanted to other areas though and Feralas bean is quite passable. The best tinnamin comes from Tanaris, where the waste wanderers collect and distill the bloom into resins, oils and powders. Other sources of firebloom, like the Searing Gorge are not as efficacious due to the high sulfurous content of the soil. The spice is quite dear going for upwards of fifty ducats for a pound. Cheap tinnamin is likely made from lesser varieties or non Tanaris breeds. Avoid it as that it's flavor lacks punch and a sulfurous batch can ruin the mix. This receipe is old, originally using shells but has been adapted to the standards of measures used by the Alliance. However, the sungrass sieve should not be substituted for metal mesh. Sungrass reacts with the jala bean expressed mellowing it. Metal strained bean has a tendency to become acrid. Vessels used for fermentation should be boiled directly prior to use as to avoid contimination of the mixture. Serve warmed but do not boil again as that this can weaken the mixture. Best served with honey cakes.

Why waste good booze by puttin' coffee in it!?

Aktarin: Shuhalo Rooibos tea. She got rather fond of it a few years ago. She drinks tea pretty much always.

Ythgar: Shade-grown fresh-roasted coffee. Brewed hot, served black.  For alchoholic beverages, he prefers Vinguld port in mixed company, Tokaji in intimate company, and sweet white Vinguld vintages otherwise.

Mlakazar: Draenic water. Purified. You damn heathens with your poisoning of your body with addictive substances and alchohols!

Samai: White chocholate mocha thingies.

Gyrithrea: Green tea, no booze.

Shintari: he'd drink floor polish. He really would.

Balla Fasseke Kouyate: Small cups of very very spicy coffee. For alchohol, he likes rum and variants of rum, such as cachaça.

Parson likes a nice Elekk Milkshakes with just a dash of Frost Lotus for flavouring.  And maybe some sprinkles.
