The Great Shadow Council Calendar

I am going to make a nifty looking generic-month calendar, and will post the events on their proper days with the time listed.  Elrin will insert the calendar in his first post there, and I'll keep it updated by re-uploading the file.  It really would help to be able to see where everyone is when, whether we're looking for RP or looking to schedule an event of our own!

Date: Tuesday and Saturday

Just a friendly suggestion but making a public calendar on Google Calendar, might not be a bad way to track this kind of thing in an easy manner for a large group of people. 

(( The Wandering Blade uses the GoogleSites features for their Website and so far the Calendar feature has not been used but would be awesome to use. ))

Can I suggest putting a location if the RP event is of the public nature? It's great knowing when things are happening, but it helps to have a place to go if you want to try and get involved.

This will also let people know who are scheduling an event in which areas the event is already happening so places don't get double booked and can even play off the other by arranging to have their event nearby.

For Raids and such, I don't know if the person would want to put a location, especially if it's not an open-to-anyone event, but having a meeting place listed would be helpful for people who would want to find someone and maybe try and get in to the raid if you have spots open.

NAME: Commonwealth Guild Meeting

LOCATION: The Deeprun Tram Station, Stormwind side

NAME: Shadowspark Institute Guild Meeting

EVENT TYPE: Alliance side meeting, open to gnomish practitioners and affiliates of the dark arts

DATE/TIME: Twice weekly, Sunday at 5:00pm server time and Monday at 8:30pm server time

LOCATION: Varies, can be learned through IC contacts (OOCly by asking a guild member)

NAME: The Golden Leaf Tavern

EVENT TYPE: Alliance pub/RP hotspot, open to the public

DATE/TIME: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7:00pm to 9:00pm server time

LOCATION: The tavern at the southern corner of Stormwind Park

Name:Fancy Cakes Open House

Event type: Open socialization event/RP Hotspot

Date/time: Sundays, weekly, 6pm st

Location: Silvermoon City, Royal Exchange

Name: The Laughing Zhevra

Event Type: Open socialization, Tavern style-RP setting.  RP Hotspot

Date/Time: Mondays at 6pm Server Time.

Location: Ratchet, The Broken Keel Tavern (Inn)

Order of the Nightsabre

Event Type: Guild and affiliates-only in character conflict. RP-PvP events in preparation for Cataclysm's open war.

Date/Time: Mondays at 5 ST

Location: Announced each week. - to get involved if you have a militant RP character whose motivations run alongside ours, contact myself or a Nightsabre officer such as Navires, Amoona, Aquanus or Soto.

((A caveat - those who attend and organize this weekly event try to avoid griefing low level areas, camping vendors or questgivers, or ruining others' times, so locations tend to be out of the way after an initial strike, encouraging combatants to get into it preferably out of range of NPCs those uninvolved may wish to use. If you're on the other side, we ask that you respect this and fight outside of towns, and if you're on our side, respect it also. This is about epic in character combat, glorying in skill and RP motivations. This isn't about ruining the experience of passersby.))

The style/design of this is really nice and simple to read, excellent.  I am a bit confused by the "Week 1" through "Week 4" thing - how do I know which week it is right now?  I'd personally be happy to see just one page of this as the standard repeating RP events/raids, so I can randomly crash them on a weekly basis! (Joking, Guild People, I won't burst into closed guild meetings ;) )

You're going to be adding infrequent events each time there is one?  Won't that become a chore? You could probably just publish this once with the meetings/raids/events that are standardised, then we can depend on the Upcoming Events thingie already on Haven for the infrequent events?

Updated the calendar to just show a normal week.  If we get some bi-monthly or something events I will update it again with a larger version.  Please feel free to continue posting any and all regular events that haven't been mentioned yet.  I can always make it bigger.

Also, it's all stretched out until either Elrin or a mod takes the dimension info out of the image properties in the posts.  I'm going to be keeping it to 850 wide (the space it occupies on my monitor between the sidebars) so the image property dimensions aren't really needed.

Is there any way a mod can somehow get this more notice?  I may seem vain asking for more views on my own idea (and Tavvy's great work), but I think this is a really helpful tool for those planning events.

Hey, idea - could one of the mods please add this to the box of links on the left side, under the RP Guild Compendium?  That way folks who are cruising through might be more likely to check out our happenin' calendar.

I just updated the calendar with the Roseate Relic Recovery and La Bella Morte.  I also deleted the Golden Leaf schedule since I was informed it would not be relocated and continued.  Please stay tuned for a new Alliance weekly event COMING SOON!

((sad to see the leaf go :( but I'm just glad Mary and the rest of the staff didn't get torched in the attack :/ ))

Name: Winterspring's Weekly Rumble!

We want to try and spice things up in terms of RP and PvP.  Every Saturday we'll go to a select arena (From Gurubashi, Ring of Valor, Blade's Edge, Dire Maul, and a hidden arena.) and host battles of different kinds!  Affiliates and friends are able to join in at any time to add to the lineup as we want to make this a routine event.  Oh, and bets are also welcome to be placed.  :)

The Social Calender seems to need an update!

The Meddler raids are now Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 6pm.

Read this: anyone who needs an event added, taken off, etc please post here. Echo will be doing an update soon.

Okay, I just edited the heck out of this thing - PLEASE let me know if it needs any corrections or additions. I went basically by what I know/have heard/people told me and general knowledge of happenings, but I could be missing something or incorrect. If there's changes to be made, let me know!

When: Every other Saturday 6PM - 8PM server time. First one falls on 10/15/11.

Event Name: Azeroth Mechano-Hog Club
Event Type: Tavern/Open Social Event
Where: New Kargath bar, Badlands
When: Every Wednesday 7pm Server Time
Who?: Those with Mechano-hogs, of course! Although those who want to socialize with Mechano-hoggers are always welcome to fly in or ride with a friend.

!WARNING! If you want to fight, do it in the middle of the bar so we can all watch!

Updated to reflect some recent changes:

I changed the time for Choppin' Block for it's new start at 6ST, and moved the Ghost Scion's open guild meeting to Friday at 5ST, where we've been having it for a while.

I took off the OOTNS PVP raid, as it seemed from the recent thread that was no longer active.

I added the Mechano-hog club in the hopes that it's still as happenin' as it was when I stopped by.

If anyone has any clue about whether the Horde Story Night or Scout's Hall events are still going on, please let me know.

Any other changes or adjustments I missed welcome!

A change for the Azeroth Mechano-hog Club! It's now called the Azeroth Mechano-hog Bar & Grill and it's located in the Wyvern's Tail inn in Valley of Honor, Orgrimmar.

Updated for the new name and location for the Mechano-hog club, as well as removal of Noxxie's and adjustment of the Ghost Scion's guild meeting time. I also removed the two Horde storytelling events as I haven't heard any news from them in months. If they're still existing, please let me know and I'll return them to the calendar.

If there are any further edits, just post 'em here and I'll get them fixed.
