Call to Arms: Hillsbrad Foothills

 Whut? 

In a time before there was Lake Wintergrasp and Nagand's Halaa there was a zone who's grasses were constantly nurtured by blood of both the Alliance and Horde. That zone, yes, you guessed it, is called the Hillsbrad Foothills. It is unknown why the Horde and Alliance constantly skirmished in the fields between South Shore and the Tarren Mill. Surely it wasn't resource based conflict as the nearby mountains of Arathi housed the more precious and sought after minerals. Still, the two factions fought over this seemingly less important land. 

Now fast forward to the present, a war against the legion and the scourge both fought and won, these battle torn fields have become neglected. Thusly, I invite both the Horde and Alliance to lock blades in battle once again and re-fertilize the lawn with fresh corpses the day before our eyes are turned towards the Alterac Valley (July 29th @ 6:00PM-ST). 



The gist. 

Without interest from other players I'll be terrorizing Tarren Mill on my own, so heads up. With interest, I'd like to put together a world-pvp match with a premise similar to AV. Each side selects one player to exist as the target for the opposing faction; I'd ask that this person's identity is posted in this thread at least a day before the event takes place. This player must remain ~somewhere~ within that factions town (South Shore / Tarren Mill). Everyone participating must perma-flag (/pvp) for the duration of the event. Thats about all I can think of rule-wise, considering that there are no level restrictions to it (mind you, the zone is level 20-30). 

Oh! Both factions ought to start at their respective town. Knew I forgot something. 

Oh, also! Until there is a better equipped volunteer for the Alliance's position as target, I'll stand in. If the Horde choose a rogue to be their target (though honestly, I wouldn't see why either side would decide this is the best way to go), please, no stealthing. 



Some questions I would have after reading the above (and their answers). 

How can I be sure everyone is flagging for PvP and not running un-flagged through the zone? Well, you can't be sure. We will just have to function with the honor system this time around.

 

Wont this just be a race to see who can get to the other faction's town first and DPS down the selected target? Potentially, yeah. Hopefully both sides will leave some members back as a defensive unit and hopefully both faction's paths will meet somewhere in the middle and force them to fight it out for a bit.

 

I'd go, but don't we have Wintergrasp in twelve minutes? Oh #%&, you're right! If the timer for Wintergrasp happens to be up within the fifteen minutes after 6:00PM-ST, the event will be postponed until 6:45PM-ST. Even if Wintergrasp is sixteen minutes after 6:00, the event will start at the normal time.

 

Is this going to be one big flop? I hope not. World PvP was one of my favorite things in Vanilla WoW. Besides, what better way to celebrate the Hillsbrad Foothills pre-Cataclysm than staining the ground red.

Uh, yeah, I think thats it. I'll be forming a raid group in Hillsbrad half a hour before 6:00PM-ST for any Alliance who are interested. From that point on you can whisper me for an invite.
