Movie scenes that describe/fit your characters.
The game is...pick a movie scene that somehow describes your character.
RULES (not that you have to follow them)
Try to keep it short.
The less actual lines, the better. Think artsy shit.
Avoid fight scenes if possible
The less you have to explain it, the better.
Warn us of any spoilers...we might not have seen the movie you picked a scene from.
Letti (it helps if you watch it about 10x in a row)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBgWCRvBWok&NR=1
Razyel (ok, so I broke some of my own rules)
SPOILER WARNING LOLOLOL...if you haven't seen Blood Diamond, don't watch this.
Skip to 2:15ish if you want...If Razyel's death works out how I think it might, this might mirror his finals words to Tylien and it captures his view and feelings towards Azeroth.
Ok, can't find one for Elrin yet...but I will.

I admit it, I lol'd at Letti ;)
For Heulwen I think it might have to be this scene from a classic action movie: Only fools think fighting involves 'honour'

And as for scenes... This is a very common scene.

This is actually really
This is actually really tough for Ythgar. I draw a lot from this one OF COURSE - I mean, hardly a secret, though the clip I wanted wasn't easily had ("And you, Sarah - How are you enjoying my Labyrinth?"). There is of course an element of this one too, as Shrilinda noticed. Cheesily, there's also definitely an element of this fellow in there. I was unable to find a shorter clip of Lord Summerisle from the 1973 Wicker Man movie, so here is a longer one. Start it at 2:00ish for the scene I meant. I think that's the short list of Ythgar <.<. Theryl and others insist Ythgar is totally the Godfather, but as I've never actually seen the movie, I couldn't truly say. ^.^ Given how MANY influences are in the character, it's a hard one to answer.
As for the rest of the characters....
For Aktarin, only one comes to mind, and it's corny unless you're me. They didn't have the exact scene I wanted on youtube (wtf is with the gazillion fan vids - can no one put up the actual scenes anymore? Geeze... so if you know the movie, it's the first glimpse of Amalthea: "I can feel this body dying all around me!".)
For the rest, yeah, equally eclectic and hard to figure out.

Watching my own picks again on my desktop with sound, apologies for the terrible sound quality of the Devil's Advocate clip. Also, yeah, watch the whole clip from the Wicker Man. Ythgar has some massive Lord Summerisle mindfucks in him. The prior clip starting around 3:20 is also excellent for embodying the sort of refined yet unashamed tendencies Ythgar portrays. Plus a gorgeous bass voice.

My suggestion for folks having trouble finding clips on YouTube: try hulu.com. They often have clips as well as (or in lieu of) full movies and episodes, and not fanvids set to music.
Haven't come up with anything for my characters yet, though Daevra would be a shoujo anime character with a crush, straight up. No clue for Lormar, Alynore, or even Lirriel. But then, I don't watch a lot of movies or TV.

Can you sum up a character in one look in the middle of a 47-second clip? This is from a little Showtime film Losing Chase, which is one of my favorite Helen Mirren movies. Sometimes it's not so much about what people say but rather about their presence and their actions.
For the sake of context, Kyra Sedgewick's character had had an emotional breakdown the night before.

Wow ... seeing that kinda
Wow ... seeing that kinda puts a perspective on how young Tharkil would have been.
As for current Tharkil
Ben Affleck's performance in all of Dogma kind of accurately portrays the kind of downfall Tharkil's gone through: At first the pious son who desired peace, his home was stolen from him, and when his efforts to finally see his home returned falter he is left with nothing but anger toward the force he loved.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSQYRq8kf4g
But as far as Tharkil's villain side, the Gary Oldman's character in Air Force One works very well. For his homeland Ivan Korshunov would have done anything and that's exactly the way Tharkil thinks.

To answer Artie's question,
To answer Artie's question, no I don't think you can. I can't pick one scene ever to sum up Iloam. I mean, there's the crazy Irishman brutality (ppfftt. no fight scenes?! rubbish!). There is a ton of Bartleby (from Dogma) in Iloam, including really wanting to be redeemed under all that psychotic anger. And of course when you're dealing with his emotions, you're really dealing with a Peter Pan complex. But that doesn't mean he's not a bad boy romantic.

I agree with you actually.
I agree with you actually. I've never seen Boondock Saints, so I pulled up the video of the courtroom scene where they essentially explain that they are vigilantes exacting righteous justice where the justice system has failed. (Thats what I took from a 5 minute clip anyway?) I pointed out to Akkie that Iloam doesn't believe in justice OR righteousness, and she seemed to think it was less about the themes and more about totally over the top psychotically violent Irishmen. And that part, does fit ;-) So I'm including it on the basis of violence and culture but not theme.

Breaking my own rule, since the only scenes I can really think of for Elrin are fight scenes. This is a character that's evolved out of an angry teenage mind (yeah, he's that old) from a time when I watched a lot of action movies.
Here are 3 good fight scenes I found that are...brutal, to say the least, and capture some of how I figure he'd fight. I'll keep thinking about a non-fight scene scene for him.
The first two scenes of this one. The whole idea is that Jet Li's character is a little...feral...

Well, this took me forever.
Well, this took me forever. I wanted the scene of Zhaan gardening in the sunshine from Farscape Season 1... couldn't find it. Also couldn't find Bones being all 'social awkward rambling on in science-speak while everyone looks at her blankly'. Nor could I find anything specific besides fanvids of the Mother Confessor Kahlan Amnell from Legend of the Seeker or Morganna from BBC's Merlin, all of which filter in my perception of Cyrcae. Even Luna Lovegood's movie scenes are pushed into 'fanvids' pairing her with Harry (or others!)
Finally, I found something that is, actually, part fan vid, BUT, for the most part, it strings together some VERY Cyrcae'ish clips. And the music is at least FROM the movie in question. AND is also fitting as Cyrcae hums to herself a lot... >.> Anyone who's not seen Pan's Labyrinth, is missing out!
