Every Tuesday evening at 6:00pm server time, the simple-minded but fervently dedicated gnomish warrior Maggie Firebrand leads a team of Alliance adventurers into the lava-filled caverns deep beneath Blackrock Mountain.  The mission?  Thin the numbers of the Firelord's ranks, and acquire tools to better strike them down.  Any Alliance character of level 60 or greater is welcome to attend these in-character expeditions.  I'll try to keep this event post updated so it always shows in the calendar.

If you've never attended one of our Core runs, here's some basic info on what to expect:

We cannot always promise the availability of warlock summons, so if your character is not attuned to the shortcut to enter the Core, you'll probably want to get that taken care of.  A simple guide on soloing attunement can be found on this WoWwiki page.  Note that this guide was written with level 60s in mind, and it will be much easier for higher level characters to complete the quest.

Where legendary weapons from the Core are concerned, we have a priority system to help people finish them, since they're so foolishly difficult to make that nobody can reasonably expect to complete them via winning random rolls.  For example, if the left half of the Bindings of the Windseeker happened to drop, it would work as follows:

• If nobody in the party currently owns the right half, it's an open roll for any character that can use the finished sword.
• If only one person in the party owns the right half, the left half is automatically given to them.
• If more than one person in the party owns the right half, all right-half-owners roll on the item, and the winner gets the left half.

All non-legendary-related items are an open roll, prioritizing RP use above anything else.  If we have a level 80 and a level 60 interested in the Robe of Volatile Power, and the level 80 wants it for a sexy RP outfit whilst the level 60 wants it because it's a minor upgrade, it would go to the level 80.  Any upgrades from the Core will be quickly replaced by Outland gear, so the items will get much more mileage as roleplaying attire, rather than something used for a few levels and discarded.

As these runs are in-character, please do not use OOC speech in /say or /yell, not even for macros.

Voice chat is not necessary for these runs.  Please behave in raid chat as you would in polite company -- no swearing up a storm, vulgar jokes or the like.  We try to keep the atmosphere as friendly and welcoming as possible.

We tend to progress at a fairly rapid pace, as it's a very big instance and we don't want to keep people there all night.  However, most of the fights don't require too much thought these days, so it's very easy to roleplay as things progress.  With a smallish group, our average time for a full clear is about an hour and a half.
