Honoring Alliance Towns - Astranaar

This forthcoming Friday, March 5th at seven o'clock Goblin Servo Time, the Commonwealth guild will host its third event to honor the people, contributions and history of smaller Alliance towns. This time we'll be paying tribute to the lakeside settlement of Astranaar and the stalwart night elves who keep it safe from the neighboring Horde, deep in the scenic forest of Ashenvale!
In keeping with the tradition of previous events, the festivities will begin with a bit of mingling, followed by a brief speech about the town and its history by Lisa Graviton. At half past seven or thereabouts, it will be time for the first of the evening's two key events, a group activity to deal with the threat of hostile elementals in the neighboring wood, with some assistance from our friends and allies in the Elementium Knights. The specifics will be announced at the event, and a gold prize will be given to one lucky participant.
Following a short break, the evening's second and final event will be a mount race from Astranaar to Auberdine! Depending on turnout, there may be two separate races for mounts of different speed. Note that use of magical speed-boosting spells or artifacts is disallowed, and using them will result in disqualification! The winner (or winners) will receive a trophy and a bit of extra gold.
From citizens to adventurers and everyone in between, all members of the Alliance are welcome. Hope to see you there!

While I heartily endorse
While I heartily endorse friendly visits to Ashenvale I do hope the race will be limited to living mounts only. We prefer to treat our forest with kindness and ask that any smog-belching contraptions be left at home.
((I hope to be able to be there!))
