((Just throwing this out there for whoever would possibly be interested. Just a teaser to get my feet wet before diving in fully.))

Who is Skythe Hawkins?

A phrase. A sentence. A question… One that begs an answer on so many lips while only a few know the truth yet refused to share. How had so many come to know him in such a short time? Did they remember him? Did they remember who he really was or claim to remember what he was now?

A set of clawed fingertips slipped into his lap to press itself against a smooth, soft pelt of ebon and snow fur. Each talon-like digit gingerly lifted to caress down a sleeping skunk as if the motion alone brought him some shred of sanity. The one that would be there no matter what trouble he got into, the very creature that had faced his horrific past and still never cowered away… The skunk, Dir, was his companion.

"What have I done…?"

Brutal thoughts that had weighed the Rogue down only clenched their choking grip further on his lungs; he was suffocating in his own madness around him. Not even the crashing thunder of the majestic Storm Peaks brought him any comfort tonight.

"Everything… Everything I did…"

Perhaps, it would have been best to start from the beginning, had the tale not been so long.

“All for nothing…”

The words escaped the scarred lips of The Rogue, yet they were only met with a swirl of cold wind around his tiny form. Snowy locks of blue-touched hair flickered and swayed in the storm’s breeze, only briefly letting the view of the left side of Skythe’s face be seen in nothing but spurts.  He’d become used to the feeling of long bangs hanging over the side to cover his eye, yet for only those that have seen it would know why it was always kept hidden.

“Those ungrateful bastards…”

Who was he speaking to? Himself? The Skunk? Perhaps some unknown Deity…

It was a story that was not meant to be like any other. A story of a lost Prince who had found comfort and happiness in what he came to know as a “family”. It was meant to be a tale of excitement and adventure, of avenging loved ones and living happily ever after.

But not all stories are so lucky to meet this ending.

No, no in fact the story of the small Rogue was only filled with lies and betrayal, of hurt and pain. It was a story of a small Rogue sacrificing everything to him, near him, around him… A sacrifice of an entire world to return home to the family he was so brutally ripped apart from… Only to be told he should have never come home.

A book with no happy ending.

A book… With the undying question inside of the pages, perhaps somewhere finally answered and revealed… Who is Skythe Hawkins?
