Notes of a Scout: Northrend Journal-Page One
To Whomever reads this.
I've been drafted again, for how long, I do not know. I've been sent, along with the remaining members of my parole squad from Outland, and some fresh blood, straight out of Silvermoon. My squad and I have been sent to Warsong Hold in the Borean Tundra, Northrend. A flat, plateau of land with craters and mining pits that isn't worth fighting over except to drive back the lines of the Nerubians.
My first view of the Tundra came from above, as we were flown in via zeppelin overhead of Warsong Hold. The fortress itself is intimidating. It stands against the usually flat Tundra, jutting out as a large mass of stone, Garrosh Hellscream's idea of a sustainable, impenetrable fortress. in front of it, near the main gate, is a large quarry, the Mightstone quarry. From my first view, I can see small sinkholes with spiderlike creatures crawling forth among the quarry.
Turns out the Nerubians decided to tunnel in through the cold ground and ambush the works.
Great.
So, A few moments after landing, the recruiter greets us and sends us down to Garrosh, he tells us we aren't going to last a day and Saurfang the Elder sends us to one Overlord Razgor, an intimidating, large orc in heavy metal armour. From there we talk to a few other officials about the situation of the quarry in front of us, which effectively cuts us off from the front sentries of the hold.
Guess where we get sent.
I guess I should describe our new squad. The ex-Blood Knight who was our cap'n in Outland is back leading us, I'm still in as recon, assasination and sniping support since the godam person in charge hasn't given us a new Farstrider and we have four new recruits.
Elthandris is the oldest of the new blood, he's a self-centered, hot tempered Blood mage who was caught smuggling illegal goods and substances with a small ring of smugglers. I can tell its going to be fun in a group with him. not.
Linashis is the new Warlock or "Felblood" as the Cap'n calls him, he's very sulky, keeps to him self, I don't mind that, but I need to know he has my back.
Ulvain Half-Elven is my personal favourite of the new blood, charged with robbery of the House Vaults in Silvermoon and apperantly Convicted, Ulvain is like a younger me, lippy, headstrong, good hand to hand fighter and a decent shot, he's the rookie they got me training this time round.
Far cry from when I was the rookie in the squad.
There was a fourth, but he died before I found out his name. or what he did, the idiot fell off the zeppelin because he was looking down at Vallaince Keep too closely.
So, we bust through the skittering spiders into the quarry and immediately have to start hauling munitions that the stupid orcs left behind in the quarry up the hill, fighting the ner'ubar and cutting loose weak little peons and soldiers caught up in the webs.
When we're done that, oh goody, we get to bomb us some spiders.
The orc in charge of demolishing the sink holes sends us in with Seaphorim bombs, and we have to plant them on the sinkholes without the spider guys seeing and blow them up without dieing.
Simple right?
Anyways, it worked, we smashed some eggs after that and headed back to the hold to get some rest. I'll write another page to these notes as follows.
