How to Follow a Five Star Act
(( Tonight, the dwarf Mabley rounded up folks from Stormwind and hosted a gathering at Raven Hill in Duskwood. The purpose? Enjoy a bit of booze and junk food, and share a few scary stories in the spirit of Hallow's End. The first tale of the evening was this one from Melanie Beanhopper, which garnered a round of applause from those in attendance.
When Mabley inquired who'd like to go next, a rather long pause followed. Mary suspected that the others were having thoughts much like her own. "Cog, there's no way I can follow that."
After a moment's consideration, Mary decided to volunteer. She couldn't top the opening act, but she knew what she could do ... ))
Plus Fifteen
(( The following thoughts were penned by Mary Jinkwicket in the early hours of the morning and subsequently left on her desk at the offices of Roseate Relic Recovery in the Hall of Explorers, Ironforge. Any employee or visitor wishing to sneak a peek could do so, given a willingness to relocate the unclaimed pair of lacy lavender underthings resting atop the paper. ))
I've had better nights than tonight.
On Commonwealth, RRR & Disappearing Gnomes
(( I debated whether or not to post this, but being in a guild management position, I figured it was the easiest way to make things known. I'm sticking the pertinent stuff above the break, feel free to skip the rest to avoid my ranting and QQing.
Roseate Relic Recovery will continue to exist as a guild, as Cheridy has generously offered to wear the guild leader hat. Mary Jinkwicket is still Co-Administratrix, but will not appear in-game for the foreseeable future. Assume she's spending a lot of time in the shop, handling paperwork and being her usual self. Shadowspark Institute still exists and operates under RRR's auspices.
Commonwealth has been struggling on life support and will likely just fade away. If the tiny handful of folks remaining want to find another guild, no hard feelings. Lisa Graviton will also continue to exist off camera and in the background.
The same applies to my remaining characters Diana, Lulu, Mag, Maggie, Rabbly, Saphrona, Termina and Veronica. Nobody will be ICly disappearing or dying ... well, except for Lineah, but she's already thoroughly dead.
Second Class Male

"I'm tired of the males," said I,
"They're useless, daft and rude!"
For dealing with a clueless guy
Had rather wrecked my mood.
Character Profile - Mary Jinkwicket

"I think the amount of meaning in our lives is contingent on the amount of fun we're having. Call it an overly simplistic worldview if you must, but I don't see much value in sitting around and stressing over deeper truths that might not even exist, let alone be within the scope of our comprehension. Start down that path and before you know it you've grown far too disenchanted to appreciate a memorable adventure in this magical world, too dispassionate to reciprocate the warmth of good company, too discombobulated to pull off the advanced variation of position 97-C in the Gnoma Sutra. Is that a meaningful life? Doesn't strike me as such."
