GAH!

Dear journal,

IT WAS THE BELT! THAT STUPID BELT I MADE IT SAID IT RIGHT THERE ON THE SCHEMATIC RIGHT IN THE WARNING OH MY FUCKING GODS I AM SO STUPID HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Whoever thought of mixing a pre-existing enchanted item, aquamarine, truesilver, and an unstable trigger is a FUCKING IDIOT! I should have never made that damn thing, and the worst thing is the energy fequencies from crossing the truesliver and mithril along with whatever personal signature the dusky belt puts out puts out makes it so I just can't make another one to get back if my calculations are right. It has to be the same one, or I'll just switch with some other Mandy in some other dimention, and what a fucking fiasco THAT would be!

And since I came here I've been attacked and have some noble bastard stalking me going on and on about his fiance. I don't care about his fiance, I want to go home!

What's the worst that could happen? Part THREE!

Something was wrong. Something was very, very wrong.

Mandy wandered through Stormwind, frowning as she watched people go by.

She didn't know anyone.

Now, there's no way she could know everyone, really, but, she knew some people.

Fel, she had been in this city her entire life. Even if you don't know people, once you see people around enough you at least somewhat recognize their faces.

She was good at faces. And these weren't any faces she had seen before.

And these people acted different. Running. Everyone was running. People knocking into each other, their mounts jumping over each other, the girl herself had nearly gotten run over Light knows how many times.

She didn't know how or why, but something deep in her gut told her that this wasn't her Stormwind. With a sigh, she started walking towards the flight master.

Mandy's picture

What's the worst that could happen? Part TWO!

She landed on the grass, the echoing of her scream vibrating in her skull. Her legs gave out, sending her to her knees, just in time for her stomach to violently expel her lunch back onto the earth from which it first came from.

She coughed, gagged, gasped, trying to breathe before wiping her mouth with the back of her hand and slowly looking up and around with wide eyes. Elwynn. She was back in Elwynn. How the FUCK was she back in Elwynn?! She was just in the Hinterlands... fighting that stupid turtle...

The sound of something crying and pulling on her sleeve broke her train of thought.

"MAAAH!!!!"

"GAH!!!!!"

She threw herself back, eyes wide, then cussed at herself as the toddler tumbled back into the grass and started crying harder.

Shit. Who would leave their kid out here? In the middle of the-

Mandy laid on the grass under the tree, grinning down at Connor as he snoozed next to her. She leaned down and brushed her lips over his little forehead, smiling when his eyes opened just oh so slightly. A small grin quirked on his lips before his eyes closed and he slipped back into sleep again.

He was so beautiful. She was so lucky. Things were going well for them. Her and Marar were only growing closer. She still had feelings for Taneel, but... well... she didn't think she'd ever be rid of them.

He would take Connor on his weekends and she would go off and train. It was so slow going now, but, it made her feel useful, got her out of the house before she went insane.

She was happy.

Life was good.

The wind picked up, rushing through the branches of the tree above. She frowned, wrapping her arm a bit tighter around her son. What the fel...

Mandy and Slick walk together in the garden, their playful banter and chatting having drawn to a close. They come to a section with a couple stone benches and a statue of sorts, and Mandy lays down on a bench, her head hanging up-side-down off the edge while Slick leans up against a statue, crossing his arms and looking at the ground. The playful glint has mostly faded from his eyes, something obviously weighing on his mind. He looks up as he's hit in the forehead with a pebble and grins at Mandy, who is staring at a bush across from her, trying to look innocent.

"Smooth, Man-fingers."

She grins over at him,"What?"

"Hey, your aim's gotten better."

"I don' know what you're talkin' about."

"Haha, yeah, sure." And they grow quiet again, the smirk fading from Slick's face before he says,"Mandy, I don' like 'im."

She looks over at him,"What?"

Chance meeting

"Hiya, Man-fingers."

Mandy spun around, staring wide-eyed at the source of the fimilar voice. He was older now, taller, more filled out than the gaunt boy from her memory. His brown hair was shoulder length, his grey eyes carrying that laughing glint. The glint that never went away, well, never went away until...

"Slick?" disbelief rang in her voice.

"Holy fuck, so ya can still talk! I was startin' to wonder!"

"Y-you can't be here. This isn't happening, this isn't real!"

"There ya go, tryin' ta hurt my feelings again. Why ya goin' to go and say shit like that?"

Her wide eyes locked onto his laughing ones.

"You're dead."

At some point last week...

Mandy walks into the Stormwind harbor, cradling what looks like a baby-sized bundle in one arm with practiced ease. She's in light leather pants and a well-fitting linen top. And, as always, has her dagger hanging off the right side of her belt. She looks cleaned up, but still like a normal person, not like any sort of 'lady'. Actually, the only sign that she has any noble connections at all is the engagement ring on her left hand.

A towering, muscular and shirtless man with ripped linen shorts and wild beard and hair comes to meet her, squinting (whether from the sun or not is hard to tell). He looks like a very in-shape hobo. He scratches his beard and nods at her. "Hey there. You th'Cap's girl?"

She tenses up as she eyes him up and down, her defensive wall going up,"Who's the Cap, and who th'fuck are you?"

Mandy's picture

Early last weekend....

Marar's house is a large estate, the grounds around it  well kept. A boy is sitting on the fence at the edge of the estate.

Herriman rides up toward the edge of the estate on a grey and black stallion, with his tricorn cap pulled down low and his coat over his shoulders. Accompanying him is a tall, thin human with a chinstrap beard and a blindfold over his eyes. Herriman is smoking a pipe, and his friend has a cigarette. Herriman tips his hat to the boy as he approaches.

"Ello! You a visitor for 'e's lordship?" The boy asks, jumping down.

Herriman nods, looking down at the boy. "Aye, I am. Fella by th'name o' Manta's here, in't 'e?"

"Yep, that's 'e's lordship. Shall I tell him 'e's got a visitor?"

"And be quick about it."

The boy runs off, coming back a few moments later. "Eliza will show you to him, I'll take yer horses if ya like."

He nods to the other man, and they both hop down off of the horses. "A'right then."

Eliza, a girl in her teens, comes out to meet then and asks them to follow her.

The blindfolded man pinches his cigarette out, stuffing it into his pocket as he and Herriman follow along behind her.

Eliza leads them into a large sitting room with several nice chairs and a couch. A tall, blond man in a fine white outfit, along with a sword hanging from his belt, awaits them. "Hello, I do not believe I have the honor of knowing who my guests are."

Herriman removes his hat and hooks it to his belt. He helps himself to one of the chairs, while the other man stands beside him. "You put an article in th'paper in th'Bay, I hear. Dead girl, eh?"

"Why do you wish to know?" Marar continues to stand, his green eyes watching Herriman suspiciously.

"I'd like ta visit th'grave." He furrows his brow challengingly.

"You were a friend of her's then?"

"I was a friend of her mum's."

Coming clean?

Dear Journal,

Lirr came over yesterday and I talked to her about stuff. I know, I know, every other time I talked to her about something she's gone and spilled it to someone else, but I made her sware that she wouldn't tell anyone about this.

Mandy's picture

Cornered

Dear Journal,

I've really done it this time. Got in trouble again. Well, I'm not in trouble yet, but, Fel, there's a good chance I will be if people don't stop asking questions the way they are.

Mandy's picture

Life

Dear Journal,

Things are going pretty good here. Things are crazy different than what I'm use to, but I think I'm starting to get use to it.

Mandy's picture

Dear Journal,

I totally got Marar in trouble yesterday. I didn't mean to! Even though it was really funny. At least, I thought so.

Long Time Gone

Dear Journal,

It's been so long since I've tried to write anything in here. Not like I haven't had anything to write about. Light, I have too much to write about, guess that's half my problem.

Mandy's picture

Scribbled update

Quickly squalled in her journal...

Mandy's (updated) List of Stupid

Mandy's picture

Wha?

A ray of sunlight made its way through a hole in the wood, shining directly on the young woman's closed eyes, causing her to sigh and shift in her sleep. She was use to waking up uncomfortable these days.

Her mind suddenly snapped awake.

This was different.

She wasn't laying in her bed, she was sitting in a hard chair.

And this wasn't the usual pins and needles that settled into her limbs, she was tied down.

Mandy slowly opened her eyes. She was in an empty room, sitting in the middle of what looked like a run down shack. She couldn't see anyone, but she couldn't see behind her. Her suspicions were confirmed when the voice came from behind her.

"I told you to stay away from him."

Mandy's picture

Long time

Dear Journal,

Been a long time since I've written, had a bunch of stuff going on. I'm sorry, this sucks. Feels like I am neglecting an old friend or something.

Liore stayed with me for a while. Something's really wrong with him, I'm worried. He was all, like, quiet and broody and stuff. But we had a bunch of time to hang out. It was nice, having someone around again. I miss having friends around, more than I'll admit to any of them. They are having a hard enough time up north, they don't need to be worrying about me here.

I have a crib now! Well, guess Connor has a crib. Liore built it for me while he was here. *doodle of a crib*

Mandy's picture

Yay random journal entry!

Dear Journal,

I have a fun little story for you!

Once upon a time there was a preistess that SUCKED at keeping things to herself and not butting in when help's not wanted or asked for.

Mandy's picture

Company

Dear Journal,

Why is it that whenever you are feeling sad or whatever, if someone else is dealing with the same thing it makes you feel better? I met this person wandering on the beach. She turned out to be a Dragoon taking a vacation from guy problems. She really wouldn't tell me any details or anything, but one thing was for sure, she was was trying to hammer stuff out in her brain just as hard as I was trying to hammer stuff out in mine.

Mandy's picture

Home.

Dear Journal,

I'm writting this from my new house in Booty Bay! No, didn't buy it, still just renting. It costs a little more than the one in Stormwind did, but I think I will be okay, for a little while at least. I really love it! It's a lot bigger than my old place, which will be good for when Connor is born. I have an actual stove, and a table where more than just two people can sit at, and upstairs I have a real room with an actual bed it in, not, like, some sort of cot! And there's a balcony that leads outside, and I can watch the ships come in and out of port and watch the sun set over the ocean.

Mandy's picture

Grrr.

Dear Journal,

Men are stupid. So is toast. Toast maybe more than men. I don't know, there might be a tie there. But they are both stupid.

Mandy's picture

Ghost of Winter Veils past...

She sat beside the fireplace, eyes wide up at the sparse tree. It was small and ugly looking, but it didn't matter to the young child. It was all sparkley and beautiful to her young mind. The elderly woman that watched her while her mother was at work was sitting in a wooden chair, snoring loudly. But that was okay. She had grown tired of her constant shushing, and was content to play with the small, ragged doll given to her Light knows how long ago.

Mandy's picture

Cuddles!

Dear Journal,

Liore came over last night! I was really happy, haven't heard much from him since he had gone up north. Was almost starting to wonder if he was okay. But he is! For the most part anyway. He kinda showed up drunk, and I am suprised I couldn't smell him coming. Haha, I made him take a bath. *doodle of a smiley face with tongue sticking out*

Puppy?

Dear journal,

Sorry for not writing in a while, I've been really out of it lately. But, I've made a decision. I need a pet.

Lies and Deception: Conclusion

~*~
Back at the house, Shana is still trying to cure the sick girl, "This is very resistant, what the fel is it?" Asilia walks into the house with little invitation.
The Draenei shakes her head,"Ve do naut know. Some of ze girls have been getting sick, a few had gotten too sick and left."
Shana looks up as Asilia comes into the room "Any luck?"
"Sakari isn't as dead as they said." Asilia says with a shrug.
The girls in the room look over at them as they walk in. The draenei and the gnome look at each other, and the gnome scoffs,"Well, I'm sure she is now."
Asilia blinks at the gnome, "She thought she was going to die....rather horribly." She smiles lightly.
The gnome eyes Asilia up and down,"Did she?"
Asilia tilts her head, "No."
The gnome blinks,"Oh."

Lies and Deception: Part 2

After a while, Aaron returns to the house, slipping in without alerting any of the girls to his presence. He quickly prepares a meal for his captives, and he enters the specialty room with two plates of food and water glasses on a tray.

May looks up and grins at him a little, but Mandy startles and eyes him wearily.

“Hello you two."

May nods to him. Mandy resists the urge to spit on him.

He sits down next to Mandy "Ready to eat?" He smiles, much more kindly then before. She eyes him wearily some more, then the plate of food,"Sure." And he feeds her since her hands are tied. When she's done he moves over to May.

"May, we have some things to talk about"

Mandy sighs as her stomach growls some, still hungry. May blinks up at him,"Yes?"

"You keep rather detailed notes on your customers. Mind explaining what happened to Saka?"

Lies and Deception: Part 1

Aaron watches the alley entrance wearily, hidden behind a large pile of boxes, readying himself as he sees Mandy walk into the alley. She looks around for May, frowning a bit when she does not see her friend. A hammer of light suddenly strikes her back and Aaron steps out, sneering at the stunned girl. He draws his sword from his cane and slashes her shoulder with the poisoned blade. She looks at him, shocked and confused, and she stumbles a bit as the stun wares off and she fumbles for her dagger.

"You humans are such strange creatures. You seem to have no sense of loyalty at all." He raises his blade "And yet you're still so very gullible."

Mandy's picture

Meeting?

The courier, a skittish looking young woman, stood in the doorway of Mandy's apartment, holding out the letter. Mandy took it, and blinked as the girl hurried away.

She opened the letter, reading it and grinning a bit.

Mandy's picture

Done.

Dear journal,

It happened. Finally. I knew it was. It didn't matter what he said or had tried to convince himself. I knew that once she came back, he would be gone.

He didn't believe me. Actually acted like I had a chance with him, and I nearly believed it. Fel, his mom even likes me better. There was a couple days there...

Mandy's picture

Crazyness!

Dear Journal,

Okay, sleeping with Liore was a LOT more stupid than I realized. I kinda, okay, no kinda, I did, catch shorok's taint from him, and it gave me this really strange snake tatoo on my back. We took it off the next day, and so I wouldn't feel the pain from it, Jas took me into that Emerald Dream place.

Connor was there. My baby. Like, I got to hold him! Light, journal, he was so beautiful! I can't imagine that I ever thought about ending the pregnancy. And imagine my suprise when I saw that he was full human, not half elf. And, well, I'm having Taneel's kid, not Liore's.

Mandy's picture

Snapping point.

Mandy frowns down at the penny-sized lightly glowing green glyphs on her ankles.

"You're not going to get me. I don't care how hard you try."

And then at the ones on her wrists, her frown deepening.

"I don't know how you do what you do, or how you made me do those things last night, but I'm prepared now, I'm only stronger for it."

She closes her eyes, running her fingers over the one on the base of her neck.

"Okay, I lost it last night. I gave into it, and now you've gone and fucked things up. But if Taneel is anything, it's forgiving. We'll talk things out, and it will be okay again."

She uncorked the healing potion and eyed the glyphs on her ankles again, and then pressed her dagger into the skin just above one, gasping as the blade broke the skin.

"Maybe one day I will grow weak. But I don't have just me to worry about any more."
