Concerning Commonwealth and Shadowspark Institute
(( I don't know quite how to word this, so I'll keep it short. I hope the folks affected will be understanding.
I've decided to "vote with my wallet" on the Real ID forums situation, as a number of people have suggested. My account has been cancelled as of this evening, and I have game time remaining through the 19th of this month. I intend to make all my regular guild and event commitments over those next ten days.
I don't intend to resubscribe unless the decision is rescinded and there are some efforts made to redress lost customer faith, particularly Blizzard's non-responsiveness on this issue via the forums, email and phone. Should this fail to happen, if anyone presently involved with Commonwealth or Shadowspark is interested in picking up the leadership reins after the 19th, I'm open to it. I don't want to foist it on anyone, especially with such short notice, so I'm not going to pick anyone out by name and ask.
I won't turn this into a rant about why I think things are bothersome enough for me to quit. If anyone wants or needs more detail on my reasons, send me a message in-game or via Haven.
I'm very sorry, and I feel awful. I've tried very hard to support RP guilds and activities. I'm remaining hopeful that things will work out, but in the meantime I have to make it clear that, like many other players, I am completely unwilling to support this change with my money. ))

((Needless to say, this makes me sadface in a huge way. Completely understandable, all things considered, but the server was a brighter place with you on it and will be poorer for your departure. Here's hoping the RealID situation will be resolved satisfactorily.))
While I'm sad to see you go,
While I'm sad to see you go, I completely understand your reasons and I don't blame you in the slightest. Even though our characters haven't had much interaction, I've always appreciated the work you've done and the bits of levity you've brought to a setting that sorely needed it.
Don't be a stranger and let us know what you're up to.

Considering that I knew
Considering that I knew absolutely nobody A-side when I made the switch and you made me feel very welcome, I'll be sad to see you go. We may not have alot of conversation, but it's nice to see someone else on at 7:30 in the morning when I'm doing daily rounds. I hope the whole Real ID mess will be resolved and you'll come back soon! Good luck with whatever else you end up doing and don't be a stranger on Haven.

I'm pondered the same thing, Lisa. I'm still torn.

Well this was very bad news.
Well this was very bad news. I don't think I've ever RPed with you but your cast of characters add a great deal of richness to Haven and A-side RP and your energy/creativity in the community is amazing.
The RealID thing goes beyond the issue of game-playing, so I understand your decision to follow a principle on this matter. Personally I'm still hoping the general outcry WILL make Blizzard think twice about their proposal (maybe that's naive of me) - and if they do go forward with it and then follow through into in-game 'Facebooking' etc, the compulsory loss of privacy will have me canceling as well. For now I'm prepared to wait and see.
In a sense of optimism about Blizz listening to negative feedback, I hope to see you return soon!

There i a glimmer of hope, in
There i a glimmer of hope, in terms of Wryxian of the EU forums. I really with the US GMs could be as vocal as he is. But in the interest of giving you hope rabbly, here's the response:
"We want to acknowledge that within this thread there remains a lot of unanswered but important questions and some very valid concerns that we have not yet been able to address. We want you to know that we are still listening and still gathering your feedback and taking it into consideration. We are not, in any way, ignoring your concerns, your questions and your feedback; in fact it is quite the opposite. Your feedback has been delivered to the people who need to see it, and it continues to be delivered.
Some in this thread have claimed that though it seems Community team members like myself are showing that we are listening and we are caring about the concerns, there are still doubts that those above us may feel the same way. I want to take a moment to clarify that this isn't actually the case. Though it can be a fine line at times to write in the forums both as an individual representative and also on behalf of the company, it needs to be made clear that the company as a whole is listening and that we do, as a company, care very much for your concerns and we are taking them on board.
We're listening, we're working through the feedback, and we're discussing it internally. When we do have more answers, updates or information to give about this announcement and about our internal discussions, we will be certain to update you here in the forums. In the meantime, please continue to provide your feedback as it is not in vain and we are taking it into account.
Thanks very much for being patient with us while we work through the process of gathering, delivering and discussing the feedback, questions and concerns you've been posting in this thread. We greatly appreciate that you have been, and continue to be, engaging with us here and expressing yourself with patience and admirable candour."
That being said, I don't really know what to say to this, Rabbs. You've brightened my day on so many occations, and the sever will be worse for your departure if things dont change.
