Convocational Opening: Regulation !
Ever wanted to engage in political intrigue?
Or perhaps you believe you will be the kind heart bringing joy to all of Silvermoon?
Are the old ways better, and you intend to damn well prove it?!
Are you a newcomer, taking a seat against all odds?
Uniting the Horde, perhaps you feel that is the direction Silvermoon should take?
Would you like to be in C-C-C-COMMAND?
REGARDLESS OF WHO YOU ARE OR WHAT YOU BELIEVE, THE CONVOCACY OF SILVERMOON NEEDS YOU!
APPLY NOW FOR THE POSITION OF CONVOCATE OF REGULATION. Make the laws, determine the fate of our criminals, and bring order to Sin'dorei society!
Your competition!
Hamlen Prideux: Man? Machine? Deus Ex Machina? Arcane Guardian? Nobody quite knows, but one thing will be certain: should this man be elected, he will LAY DOWN THE LAW! Armed with a crossbow, a mechanohog and a face to die for (literally) this man is a prime contestant!
Soulwyn: Brand spankin' new, and believe-you-me, this lass takes the spankin' literal! While perhaps lacking in the preparations most candidates make, she makes up for it more than enough with a husky voice that demands all the attention!
Sidoran: Or "Sid" for short. With his gentle nature and demeanor, this newcomer will face many questions about himself and his plans for the position. Will his oh-so-old age interfere with his ability to handle the stress of the elections? WILL HE BREAK A HIP?! Do not underestimate him, however, as it is often the third dog who runs off with the bone, where two quarrel over it!
Will you take their challenge?

In other words: The Kingdom of Quel'Thalas' Convocation has a job opening.
What do we do?
TKOQ runs the self-proclaimed government of Silvermoon, attempting to spice up roleplay with political intrigue. Active in the roleplaying community of Shadow Council's Horde Side, TKOQ is a well-established guild that promotes roleplay wherever we can.
The Convocation itself, as far as I'm aware, has no specific function, beyond that we try and create roleplay opportunities for everyone, including those outside our guild. The Convocation meets irregularly, by request of any one Convocate.
What are the requirements to run?
None, really, beyond being an active roleplayer and having an interest. However, should you be elected, you will be expected to join our guild on the character which takes the seat.
I want to apply! Now what?!
Either (or heck, do all of them!) :
- Send an in-game mail to Heathhenel or Aedran and tell them of your interest
- Join our channel: /join TKOQ and ask there
- Post in this blog entry, I suppose. Although that is the least effective method.
When are the elections?
Currently, they are scheduled for Saturday, March 20th, at 6PM Server Time.
- Aestan's blog

This... will take some consideration. But perhaps if Jim approves, I could at last find all the paperwork my heart desires.

I assure you, my dear Lords and Ladies of the Convocation:
I am far more than an upstart with fair form. The Convocation of Regulation will require the even-handedness of diplomacy, charisma, strong interpersonal skills, and the mental and emotional fortitude to function within the boundaries required to maintain lawfulness within our borders. I have only submitted myself to the position because I have just cause to believe myself capable of properly carrying out the duties associated therein.
Please, do me the proper courtesy of fair display to the general public as a legitimate candidate, as the oafish figure of Hamlen Prideux as proper alternative wounds me - and the people whom he would victimize in future! - should he win.
((New LAW: All men are now

((Oh, no, Darling...
(( Oh, no, Darling. We really shouldn't encourage them to think of themselves as so base. These are our own males, after all. Far better to keep them busy raising the city up in affairs which play to their strengths. if you turn a male into a servant, he will either get lazy, or brook at his new yoke; and then there will be no getting anything done at all.))
Jessica Rabbit? Yes
Jessica Rabbit? Yes please!
The worth of all applicants
The worth of all applicants has been weighed and measured by we members of the Convocation. All will be given their time in the Eternal Sun as is their due, and we shall question them upon the night of the assembly before selecting from their numbers. That, lords and ladies, is the law, and it shall come to pass as it has for centuries.
Magestrix, your concerns are noted to us, and I am certain all members of the Convocation, and we are aware of the deeds of all entrants. Be vindicated by the fullness of time and let not your enthusiasm grip you heedlessly.
The Convocation assembles this coming weekend. We shall see what comes of that day.
Glancing up from
Glancing up from transcribing a text titled, "On the Genealogy of Morality," Cyrcae blinks as two citizens walk by her. Their discussion is highly animated, variant in tone from anxiety to anger. Words, clips of phrases drift to her waiting ears... "More machine than man...." "Seems more frightening than all the Wretched..." "They should outlaw those fel-cursed machines... smoke is horrible."
Another blink. Facts filter through the scholar's mind.
Observation: The Arcane Guardians patrol the city, and are decidely machine. Hamlen is refered to as a 'tin man'. Hamlen frequently rides a large, smoke-belching, 'mechano-hog.'
Hypotheses: 1) Hamlen is a new form of Arcane Guardian. 2) Hamlen is merely a man attempting to utilize the same, faceless, 'fear' psychology to exert his idea of control over the masses. 3) There is an unknown metallic man-machine who exudes smoke.
Supposition: Hamlen is being discussed by the populace, for good or for ill.
Extraction: 'Control' by intimated fear and aggression does not often last, and will often backfire. See: Kil'Jaedan, Kael'thas, Fel Energies and subsequent rebellion.

March 20th at 6pm ST. Got
March 20th at 6pm ST. Got it. But where?
Are people who aren't members of TKOQ allowed to vote or have any input? This sounds like it will be a interesting event and I definately wish to attend.
Where is usually decided
Where is usually decided on-the-spot, as there is never a guarantee that wherever you decide ahead of time will actually be available.
The meeting itself is closed to only Convocates and Candidates, but we frequently let characters attend who have a good IC way of getting in (Ranidaris as Sebastien's aide, Hamlen as Aestan's bodyguard, etc). I personally would love to see someone take on the task Darvahn did last time, and I could imagine we might call that person the "scribe" and allow them entrance on that premise.
For Darvahn's post, see here:

Input: We love politicking - otherwise we wouldn't become Convocates. So input wise: absolutely. Seek out the Convocates, forge plans and alliances, propose events, do anything you feel would be fun RP. That's the whole point of us even having the Convocation: to stimulate RP to everyone.
Voting-wise only Convocates get a vote - but that doesn't mean you can't vote indirectly, if you catch my drift.
Additionally, anyone can run for Convocate - you needn't be in TKOQ to run. However, you should be prepared to join TKOQ should you be elected.
Great questions, let me know if you have any others. And feel free to /join TKOQ channel, and talk to us OOC-ly about the elections and such! Or just socialize.
